From our Southeast Asia Collection, a fine original Burmese watercolor of a solitary young monk at prayer. From memory we think the scene depicts one of the many alcoves at the massive Ananda Temple complex in Pagan, though in all candor we cannot be entirely certain. In any event, it is a stirring and highly evocative portrayal which in its simplicity, captures a deep and genuine sense of reverence and serenity. Eye-catching patinated bronze swan statue on a black marble base.. This curvilinear design is reminiscent of the Art Deco period. The edges of the marble base are beveled and the corners are rounded; it all feels very smooth. Unsigned, there was green felt on the bottom that was removed, but enough remains that it will protect a wood surface from scratching. In excellent condition, it measures 16.12ʺ long × 4.12ʺ deep × 11.75ʺ high.

Large size lithograph print in elegant shades of gray, blacks and cream, 34" by 19 1/2", (and 41 1/2" by 26 1/2" in quality mid century frame), numbered 36/95 at lower left, and pencil signed at lower right, by the only recently deceased important Swiss modernist artist, HANS ERNI (1909-2015) . A fine miniature portrait painting, on natural organic material, attributed, by two experts, to Joseph Saunders. The sitter is a young boy dressed in blue garb with gray trim. Condition is excellent, with no issues. The piece is actually much better in person than the photos indicate. Sight size is 2" by 1 1/2", while the frame (newer) is 3 1/4" by 2 3/4".

An uncommon miniature portrait, done in oil on copper, of a member of a Scandinavian royal family. The gentleman, wearing a red coat and blue tunic, is shown 3/4 length in a field.

The condition is good, with some scattered small losses, and looks better in person than the photo shows. Presented in its beautiful original bronze frame. Sight size is 3 1/4" by 2 1/2" and the frame size is 5" by 4 1/4".

A fine antique still life, rendered in pastel and signed by the listed, famous and very collectible American artist William Henry Chandler (1854-1928). The fruits - peaches, grapes, plums and foliage are expertly portrayed by the hand of this American master.This type of Chandler is greatly sought after by collectors.

The artwork and the stunning original goldleafed wood antique frame are both in superb condition. Sight size is 12 1/2" by 8 3/4", and the framed size is 22" by 19".

A signed Hyacinthe Mercier miniature portrait, painted on natural wafer. The beautifully rendered sitter is a pleasant looking woman wearing a lace bonnet with lavender and light blue bows, and a dark blue robe or gown. "Mercier 1824" in script along the right side.

The painting is in excellent condition, with some rough edges which do not show while the piece is in its period bronze frame. Sight size is 2 3/8" by 1 7/8", with a frame size of 2 3/4" by 2 1/4".
