Old circa 1940's chalk portrait drawing of a young woman with red hair and striking light eyes, 22" by 16" (27" by 20 1/2" framed in green metal strip frame), apparently unsigned. This is one of several drawings I encountered by (I believe) the same artist. Two other drawings were signed, but illegibly, so the identity of the artist is a mystery. I think the paper might have been rolled at one time as under certain raking light conditions one can see soft horizontal, roughly parallel creases...

Pencil signed etching, 8 1/2" by 6 1/2" inside the mat, 15 1/4" by 12 1/4" as framed, titled at lower left "The Arts and Crafts Courtyard", (and edition number there given as "100"), the subject the famed and often painted Brulatour Courtyard in the French Quarter, by the well listed Arizona and southwestern painter and art educator GERRY PEIRCE (1900-1969). Peirce was born in upstate New York and educated at the Art Students League and the Cleveland School of Art...

Ross Shattuck painting on art board of 2 cloaked figures walking up a hilly desert street, with original frame some minor scuffs. Size sight 15" by 19" and a 3" wide frame 25" by 21" Shattuck studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art and the PAFA. He moved from New York to Laguna Beach about 1929. A circa 1920's to 1940's old reprint of the much-loved classic Currier and Ives lithograph "American Winter Scenes", with a horse-drawn sleigh heading towards the snug home at right in which a party appears to be held. The piece measures 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in what I believe is a birdseye maple frame. Condition is very good, vintage condition. The original 19th century lithograph is very expensive; this reasonable alternative will provide the same decorative punch.

Something of a mystery, this is a very interesting soft pencil drawing of a young woman, 13 1/4" by 9 1/4" (19" by 15" framed), signed indecipherably at lower right and dated there 1931. Try as I might, I have absolutely come to a dead end when it comes to figuring out this signature. Adjacent to that signature an inscription reads "Baroness Leonnie Perraja"...

Beautifully executed drawing in soft pencil, 8 1/2" by 11 1/2" sheet, 6 1/2" by 9 1/2" inside the rectangular border drawn by the artist, and 10 1/4" by 13 5/8" as framed, signed at lower right "Davis F.
