A watercolor portrait, on natural wafer, of a handsome gentleman attired in a black jacket and vest with a pale pink cravat. Housed in a very heavy and well-made brass case with the reverse side being fully glazed over fabric.
The condition of the painting and the case is excellent, with no flaws. The white dots and background color variations are just due to exterior dust and light reflections. Overall size is 2 7/8" by 2 3/8".
Japanese limited-edition copperplate etching titled "Big Tree No. 2" by Tanaka Ryohei (1933-2019). Pencil-signed, dated '83, and numbered 33/130 in the lower margin. Paper size 13 1/4" x 12” (image: 9 x 8 1/4"). Never framed. Very good overall condition. There are a few pinhead sized light brown spots in the margin.
