Old watercolor on paper painting, a study of trees by a lake, the artist likely American, circa 1920's, 13 1/4" by 8 1/2" inside the old mat, possibly signed at extreme lower right corner but it is indecipherable. There are old framer's instructions on the reverse side. The work was found framed and the frame is possibly available to the purchaser at no extra charge, but it is worn and tired. A fresh framing job will do wonders for this fine old watercolor painting.

A small etching of one of the classic old buildings of America's oldest coastal cities, perhaps New Orleans or Charleston South Carolina, titled "Street Cart", numbered 91/150 and signed "Godzala" or similar. The etching measures 3 3/4" by 2 1/2" inside the mat and 10 1/4" by 8 1/4" in the silver metal frame. Condition is excellent. The piece likely dates to the 1990's through present. I do not see an obvious artist that would correspond with the name.

A colorful oil on canvas of two women and a donkey or horse in a tropical village setting of Haiti, probably executed circa 1960's or 1970's. The little work, 10" by 8", unframed, is signed at bottom center "Mme Brunise", for "Madame Brunise". The "Madame" is interesting as I have not seen that before on a Haitian work...

Watercolor painting of yellow roses on their prickly stems, 11" by 7 3/4" (16 1/2" by 12 3/4" framed), unsigned, circa late 19th century or early 20th. There is an old framer's label on the reverse backing from Boston. Condition is good, mat should be replaced, as well as old-style acidic old sawn wood backing boards. The mat edges did leave browning to mark their presence but that would be hidden completely by a new mat.

Small contemporary unframed painting, 10" by 8", signed at lower right "Harper", of a classic old late Victorian gingerbread house, complete with the turret rooms and wraparound porch that was so common in homes built during that period. It would have been nice had the artist identified the address, but that was not to be. The work is in excellent condition.

American watercolor painting on heavy watercolor paper, of trees in a shaded landscape, circa mid 20th century. The unsigned work measures 15 1/2" by 22 1/2" (unframed). Condition is excellent; small pinholes in corners where the artist had this affixed while working on it. Could probably be sent rolled in a tube for savings on shipping.

Oil on burlap type canvas, unframed, 29 1/2" by 15", signed at lower right "BEKE", date circa 1950's or early 1960's most likely. The scene is a classic Mediterranean coastline in Italy or Spain, or, just a generic Mediterranean scene conceived by the artist. I don't see a listing for this artist so am offering this as a decorative piece. It is soiled, and would brighten substantially with a professional cleaning.

A twentieth century pastel on paper drawing of white and yellow flowers in a white vase, signed at lower right with what appears as "Raymond" or similar. The work measures 10 1/2" by 8 1/2" inside the present brown mat (16 1/2" by 12 1/2" framed). Found in Los Angeles, the work is on English paper---I suppose it could be English. The hand that created this was talented and it is a lovely little still life.

Antique watercolor painting of five rabbits in a grassy scene, feasting on several peaches, some reduced to just pits. The charming work measures 5 1/4" by 6 7/8" (and the old gold turn of the century frame is 11 1/4" by 13 1/4"). Frame is in above average condition for a frame of its type and period, with just one gold-painted area at left edge where there had been some loss of the design.

Watercolor on paper painting of a traditional Chinese junk near the shore of a reedy body of water, 15" by 11 1/2" (20 1/2" by 16 1/2" in simple blond wood look framing), signed at lower left in pencil with what appears to be the name "Tang". The transparent washes and deft handling make for a pleasing and calming image that is a fine alternative to a print. The work is affixed or pressed against the backing by the glass---there is not a proper mount.

Oil on canvas painting of a desert, late 20th century, 12" by 16" (19" by 23" framed), signed at lower left by California desert painter KENNETH WALFORD. This is a rather typical example of the work of this artist. I have handled a number of Walford's works. Most feature desert landscapes. Biographical information on the artist seems to be lacking at this time.

Irving Amen's works are most commonly prints, as he is considered a master print maker in woodblock, etching, lithography and silk screen; this example appears to be etching or etching with aquatint. Antique watercolor painting of a castle-like structure in an extensive landscape, 7 1/4" by 10 7/8", 14" by 17" in frame, signed with initials "M. N" and dated 1882 and, curiously, also 1888, at lower left corner. This is likely by an amateur watercolorist. The work is a survivor, with paper browning, broken off corners, and a small puncture at center right. Presently it is loose and unmounted within the framing.

An antique Kearsley hand coloured snake copper plate engraving print from 1801. This is a really fine example and it is entitled "VIPER-HEADAED SNAKE", from the original by James Heath. Published in 1801 for inclusion in "Kearsley's Systematic Natural History" series published in various volumes and with various topics beginning in 1800, this plate is from Volume 3 "Amphibia", published in 1802. The work is affixed at three edges to another sheet, I was able to peer into the back via the open side and do not see any writing or other information there. The drawing extends beyond the mat, as shown. Nicely executed work by unknown artist.

In 1879 John Everett Millais produced Cherry Ripe, the oil painting of a little girl sitting on a tree trunk, next to her a large green leaf topped with red cherries.
