Lloyd Ray Ney. Ney, - 1893 - 1964, b. Pa.

Lived in New Hope, Pa. Studied - Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, winner of the Cresson Prize, WPA commissions, his non-objective paintings were included in 15 years of exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum [ 1947 - 1955].

This watercolor on paper board is in very good original condition, unframed, and measures app. 18" X 24", signed Ney,'62.

Haku Maki did a wide range of works: prints of many sizes, book plates, greeting cards, and postcards. Here are four postcards that he did in 1999. A nicely executed watercolor, on natural material, of a gent in a black coat with white stock and ruffled shirt. Presented in the original gilt metal case with hair work under glazing on the reverse.

The overall condition is fine, with some tiny dust motes under the glass. The white areas circling the top half are reflections from the chamfered cover glass. Overall frame size is 2 1/4" by 2".
