A modern unsigned painting, likely acrylic, the complex surface obviously worked and re-worked and built up by the artist----the piece, unframed, weighs nearly 9 pounds; that is a lot of paint. The measurements are 30" by 24". Despite the thickness of the paint, that paint appears to be stable. The generally monochromatic colors, bluish-gray/black, reminding of volcanic cindery glass, with other color showing through, should work well in a number of contemporary settings...

I do not see biographical information on the artist but she has excelled here, showing her full talent as she creates a close-up (think Georgia O'Keeffe) of yellow flowers on beavertail or similar cacti. Look at the pistils of the blossom---amazing technique by the artist. Condition is excellent. Black frame shows some wear.

The piece measures 20 1/2" by 28 1/2" inside the mat and 28 1/4" by 35 1/2" as framed. I have not opened the backing to determine a title or firmly establish the geography of the subject...

Classic watercolor work by Florida's well-listed impressionist artist, EMMETT FRITZ (1917-1995), the 6 3/4" by 9 1/2" work (14" by 16 3/4" framed) a view down one of the streets in the historic downtown area of St. Augustine on Florida's northeast coast. The piece is in fresh, clean condition with no issues. The pink, blue and green colors in this particular example are very nice.
