A charming oil on canvas painting of central Paris by the Seine, a number of tiny figures enjoying their walks along the river with its barges. The artist signed at lower right "L Florguin" and dated the work 1953. Very surprisingly I see only scant information under this name. However the artist was obviously very familiar with the French naive school painters who flourished in the immediate post-war years...

Oil on board, likely Canadian painting of a curling scene on a large ice rink with a large number of spectators and players, painted very competently in a very charming folk-art style, signed at lower right "S. S. Heath" and dated there 1973. The work reminds a bit of the whimsical folky Canadian paintings of Allen Sapp or William Kurelek. Suprisingly, I see absolutely no information or auction record for any artist of this name. The work measures 16" by 20" and 20" by 24" as framed...

This is a very finely executed watercolor on paper of a young woman in the clothing of the old country. I've opened this up and see that the work is on paper laid on a board, and it is not signed. The measurements inside the gold mat are 9 1/4" by 7 1/4" (17" by 13" in ornate old frame). I am sure, given the quality of the work (note the care lavished on the eyes and face, in particular), that the artist would be someone recognized and listed...

The work measures 12" by 8" (23 1/2" by 19 1/2" in silvery framing). The artist, BRUCE PARK (1955-) is a resident of Bozeman, Montana. He attended Humboldt State University at Arcata, California, and the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1979...

A vintage (mid century) watercolor painting of a very old stone church in Central America or Mexico, signed at lower left "Gil". The work is very nicely painted by an obviously talented watercolorist. Note the tiny figures in the composition, and the bright spots of color contrasting with the creamy stone of this circa sixteenth or seventeenth century church. Most likely this would be in Guatemala or one of the nearby countries, or in southern Mexico...

A truly rare, quality painting of the Seattle waterfront's Pier 7, circa 1920's, signed lower left by noted Norwegian-American artist YNGVAR SONNICHSEN (1873-1938). The oil on board work measures 18" by 24" (22 1/2" by 28 1/2" in an interesting Stanford White style frame). Written in an old hand on old label on the reverse is "PIER 7 SEATTLE 1925 or earlier"...

Kelley studied on a scholarship at the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, where he counted the artist Charlie Dye among his instructors...

Pair of hard porcelain pheasants covered with "famille rose" enamels, gilt details. "compagnie des indes" style. Although the style is Chinese from the 18th century, these are late copies Probably Chinese work from the 20th century, perhaps from the Republican period. The enamels are beautiful and thick, some details are gilded. Base unglazed, no mark. Good condition, except the beak of a pheasant broken and badly restored . Height: 29cm

Franca is perhaps best known for his paintings of Native American women, and "Big Eye" children, but he also painted a wide range of other subject matter. The Askart listing says he painted, among other subjects, fantasy, dreams/mystery, female figure, still life, cityscapes, seascapes, and pure abstractio...
