A four panel coromandel screen with four porcelain panels set inside the screen surrounded with mother of pearl inlay of various human subjects set within a landscape. Each porcelain panel contains a short inscription describing the scene. The next line contains the date when the panels were painted (summer, year of the earth snake or approx. 1929). This rust colored copper oxide monochrome has a gorgeous tea dust glaze. A chinese scholar's object used for collecting, this beautiful porcelain monochrome is a wonderful decorative piece as well as a small flower vase. The black and rust combined compliment each other, showing a lovely contrast. With Qianlong mark on the bottom.

This pair of club chairs that we call Bern Cinema Clair have an rather light tone which is unusual for a pair as old as this. Circa late 1930's, this pair was surely inspired by Jacques Emil Rhulmanns' famous Elephant Club chair. Being offered is a superb circa 1945 sterling silver pitcher by William Spratling, of Taxco, Mexico; handwrought bulbous form originally, specifically designed as a sangria pitcher with three applied floral motifs on the body; flared neck; ribbon handle with ruffle decoration, but of course pitcher can be used for water, iced tea etc. Dimensions: 7 1/2 inches tall by 7 inches diameter. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. Weight is a hefty 38 ozs.
