An oval Libbey-Nash bowl measuring 9 inches long, 6 ½ inches wide and 3 ½ inches tall. The rose decorated colorless bowl is unsigned but is shown as shape K530 in the Libbey-Nash 1933 catalog as reprinted in Fauster’s “Libbey Glass Since 1818.”

Bashofu kimono hand-woven of ito-basho, which is a family of banana tree, for both wefts and warps. The brown stripe yarn and warp kasuri yarn are dyed with Sharinbai, a family of the rose tree. The small weft kasri yarn is dyed with Ryukyu ai, vegetable indigo in Okinawa. Bashofu has been woven in many islands in Okinawa from old days, for everyday kimono or work wear. Long armed shrimp, a symbol in any culture of a festive meal, decorate in red the shunkei lacquered surfaces of these turned bamboo basins called Haisen made for washing sake cups between drinks. Each bowl is turned from a bamboo node, celebrating the natural basin formed by the bamboo tree and used from time immemorial in Asia. They are 13 cm (5 inches) diameter, 9 cm (3-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition, enclosed in the original kiri-wood box signed Shunko.

Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Temple in the Wood" depicting deer at a shrine deep in the woods around Nara by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) dated Showa 15 (1940). Posthumous memorial edition as marked in the upper left margin. The artist's black ink stamped signature and red seal is at the lower left. The print is block titled and signed in the lower margin. This really nice Blue Mist Egg 2-Piece Trinket Box with Lid, featuring the hand painted Daisies decoration, was made by Westmoreland Glass. This Trinket Box measures 3 1/2 inches X 2 1/2 inches. Wonderful 1960’s sterling silver concho belt by a very fine Navajo silversmith of N.P, c. 1950s-60s.

Unusally large and heavy plus very ornate with particularly fine select large torquise stones mounted on 12 Conches and the massive buckle.

The belt measure 130 cm. length and weighs 932 grams, almost a kilo. Probably the largest we've seen for sale and the high weight must be due to the larger size of the Conchos and buckle.

Old mask with a thick shiny black soot patina, the originality of the sculpture is based on an arrangement of rectangular shapes which fit into each other. We note 3 horizontal carved lines and a Shivaite trident crossing the forehead to represent the tika, Old traces of vermilion pigment on the forehead and old traces of glue which retain some hairs around the mouth, the ears are small and in relief on each sides of the mask. Probably gtom West Nepal...

Vintage clear cloisonné lidded box, employing the plique-a-jour technique, lovely muted pastel colors with a “pierced” lid, most likely meant to be a potpourri to put scented herbs and flower petals in. This is a complicated and time consuming craft- please note that the bottom is cloisonné as well as having some curvature to the lid - it would have been much easier just to give it a copper bottom and making the lid flat...

A fine tea bowl in Gohon Hagi glaze decorated with the characters Haku-un (White Cloud) by Shimizu Hian enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 12 cm (4-3/4 inches) diameter8 cm (just more than 3 inches) tall and in excellent condition.

A small ceramic box for carrying incense in the shape of a gingko leaf decorated with the single character Hana (flower) by Shimizu Hian enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 8 x 6 x 3 cm (roughly 3 x 2-1/4 x 1 inches) and is in excellent condition.
