This Murano Glass modern expression is typical of the Flavio Poli vessel and animal designs for Seguso Vetri d'Arte in the 1940's and 1950's. There are many references to the modern forms with multiple sommerso layers of controlled bubbles and a generous layer of gold leaf by Flavio Poli. An identical form is documented in Leslie Pinas' book ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO on page 95, valued there at $500. -700. This fine modern expression is 7" in diameter, 2.75" tall...

A classic bell-shaped sterling silver double jigger. The bell shape and rolled edges of the cups are reminiscent of “Revere” bowls that were in turn based on Colonial designs by Paul Revere. Stamped “Sterling.”

Japanese shunga group with watercolor and gold silver details , late meiji or Taisho prints with water color details and trimmed in silver and gold dust . 3 pieces in each group . Each page is approximately 9" by 6.25" and printed on a bamboo watermarked paper.

Here is a truly exquisite vase by the masters Erich and Ingrid Triller. The glaze is an intense blue. On the underside is painted Tobo Triller. This stunning piece of stonweare art measures 8 1/2" (21cm) high and is 5" (12.5cm) in diameter. The vase is far more beautiful and intense than the pictures suggest.

An old Japanese temple lantern made entirely of bronze. Sacred jewel called Hoju is represented in the finial. Hinged door allows access to the interior.

This pretty Milk Glass Paneled Grape Soap Dish was made by Westmoreland Glass. This Soap Dish measures 5 inch X 6 1/2 inch and is signed on the bottom WG. 1940s - 1950s, Chinese moss agate low slung lotus style brush washer. The moss agate shows nice markings being genuine and is a light grey/green to darker green in color. The rim has two lotus flowers and two seed pods placed around the undulating and curling top. Condition is excellent having the normal characters of this type agate, which are natural indentations. Having a very lovely shape and design, it measures 6.25" x 5.5" x .75" high.

This classic Mandruzatto block vase, done in the Sommerso technique with layers of ruby in crystal glass, has 8 cut and polished facets. While a labor intensive technique, this style reveals the elegant beauty of the glass, and produces wonderful optics. Made in 1970s or 80s. It stands 6 1/2" h by 3" diameter. The piece is in excellent condition. It has "Made in Murano Italy" label.

Nice flat and thin primitive mask with a white painted trisul on the front. Hard black patina, the eyes and mouth are under-ligned with an old white paint. Hairs are fixed with glue. Note a laocal repair with iron wire mostly visible from the back side. A charming akaraku chawan done by third generation potter Kato Ryusei. This piece was fired at the Akahiko Kama which has produced pottery in Aichi prefecture since 1956 and who have the distinction of being commissioned not only by the Showa Emperor and Empress but also by the later Heisei Emperor.

With a soft luminance and subtle charm, this piece would be an valued addition to the collection of any budding tea practitioner...

A wonderful etched bakelite box that simulates wood. There are scenes on all sides, top and bottom. Stamped on the bottom. Unfortunately, the piece is mottled with stains and a gentle wiping removed some ink. The lid is actually darker than previous pictures ( see last photo). Price is reduced + sold as is. Articulated Mud head puppet carved by Henry Seeni. Similar example in Denver Art Museum, Denver, Colorado. Reddish brown sack mask to which are fastened three gourds, one on top and one over each ear, and painted reddish brown. Rag ruff. Kilt made from a woman's old dress. Body painted with red-brown clay. He carries a feather and a rattle. Koyemsi is the most common Hopi clown. He appears in Mixed Kachina Dances and sometimes a group of Koyemsi appear in a dance of their own...
