A very nice Victorian lacquered papier-mache folding corner shelf decorated with Chinese court scenes depicting a pair of noble ladies relaxing amidst their finery. The design is worked in gold and silver metallic inks and is accented with iron red and flesh-tone colors. A nice scaraboid stone seal carved in serpentine, Western Mesopotamia, c. early-mid 2nd. mill. BC.

The scaraboid is engraved with a high relief carving of a man standing with outstretched arms and a tree in each hand. Quite unusual.

The lekythos with a net pattern in black glaze on the squat body.

Condition: Choice and intact with micro chip to rim.

Interesting and attractive amulet carved and polished in green black stone, very glossy, Mesopotamia Uruk-Jemdet Nasr period, 4th.-3rd. mill. BC.

A nice small collection of 19 seal bullae stamped in lead, dating from c. 12th.-14th. century for the oldest up to c. 17th.-18th. century!

Pair of antique art nouveau bookends depicting a scholar reading in a library. Cast iron with a bronze finish by Judd Co., it is great set of bookends for your office or library. Measures 5.5" high, 7" long, 2.75" wide. Dates circa 1920

A fine hardstone cyliner seal, Middle Assyrian Empire, 1363-912 BC.

The seal is carved in a matte-black stone and depicts a hunting scene with the great bending to shoot an arrow against a 4-legged animal, crescent above.

Size: 26-27 mm. tall and 11 mm. thick.

Condition: VF, intact with some wear and fine patination and micro deposits.

Interesting huge seal from the Oberländer collection. It was described as unidentified and probably ceramic, but to us it looks like Limestone, but we're not certain. At first glance it looks like a Pre-Columbian seal, but details doesn't compute and there were no Pre-Columbian seals in the collection, so it could be from Mesopotamia / Western Asia, we're not certain.

It's sold as guaranteed ancient and 800+ years old.

The seal was aquired by the collector in 1995.

A scarce specimen of a Danish Neolithic Axe with a pointed neck, dating to 3500-2500 BC.

This type of axe were one of the early developments from the from the primitive core axes of the hunters and gatherers. It is found alongside the thinbutted axes, and most finds are in the eastern parts of Denmark.

This specimen is unpolished, could be an unfinished 'prework'...

Tlatilco is noted in particular for its high quality pottery pieces, many featuring Olmec iconography. Tlatilco figures were known for their elaborate hair styles. Chinese Warring States Flat Bronze Axe Head (475 - 221 BC)

This bronze axe head dates approximately to the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It has a relatively wide cutting edge and on one side are timber marks within the surface corrosion. Inside are remains of its wooden shaft. Length 15 cm (6 inches)...

A rare substantial rectangular stamp seal with pronounced handle at the back and engraved with a fine 4 parallel panels of Zig-zag patterns, c. 4th. millenium BC, perhaps somewhat earlier.

A good sized Imari porcelain bowl. Blue underglaze cobalt and Red, green, aubergine and gold overglaze enamel decoration. Good decorative impact. A "crows foot" crack inside the foot is stable and barely at all visible inside the bowl. Minor enamel losses. Diameter, 10 1/8 in. Height 3 3/4 in.

The lid with a fine decoration of floral patterns. The silver makes a great contrast with the dark patina of the copper. L. 7,5 cm, H. 6 cm. Very good condition.
