A highly interesting and beautiful Redstone (Jasper?) Scaraboid, Levantine / Holyland, 1st. millenium BC.

This seal predates the Greco-Persian period of Scaraboids and was made during the Neo-Assyrian period, ca. 10th.-8th. century BC.

The seal is engraved with a complicated pattern, like multible Swaztikas or perhaps a scetched bird (?). Very sharp and attractive engraving

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese peach toggle (guajian) crafted from a flat piece of burl wood with large spreading leaves, representing longevity in Chinese iconography. Two holes on either side of the stem were used for threading a cord from which this toggle would have been suspended as a counterweight to some other object, such as a tobacco pouch. Museum grade very large Japanese Ginbari enamel vase. Ginbari is a technique using a foil design made with an embossing plate. The vase has a robin's egg blue enamel ground comprised of small flowers, with Wisteria branches bearing pastel green and purple flowers, small birds perched and flying through the tree branches.
