A modernist sterling silver ring by Oscar Aaroe, (1905-1996), a jeweler and silversmith born in Denmark who apprenticed with Georg Jensen and had his store on Palm Springs, California. This ring feels Southwestern in design and was probably influenced by the Native American silversmiths in the area.

Has a bezel set dark green - almost black smooth stone. Measures size 9.

A 19thC Scottish banded onyx sterling silver pin brooch 1850-80. This 2-7/8 x 7/8" lozenge-shaped pin has the original c-clasp; the silver border is unmarked but tests as silver (the pin itself is silver plated). A vintage hand wrought studio sterling silver necklace with a stone drop. Features curved links graduating in size culminating in a greenish brown mottled stone pendant. Measures approximately 19" long. Pendant measures 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" across. Interesting way that the silver wraps around the stone to hold it in place. Clever hook closure that holds securely. A sterling silver modernist brooch by Helen Scheier Adelman, (1909-1999), American Mid Century jeweler. This brooch depicts two antelope in thick polished sterling with a darker bumpy surface enamel background.

Measures 1 3/8" tall and 1 1/8" at the widest. Signed Adelman and Sterling on the back. Nice contrast between the darkened rough and shiny layers. Rollover clasp holds securely. Has some minor surface scratches.

A pair of vintage sterling silver heart shaped earrings by Peggy Ackerly, (1921-2011), who apprenticed with Sam Kramer from 1943-64. Ackerly helped design and execute many of Kramer's most iconic pieces. These earrings are post 1968, when she began using the conjoined MA mark for Margaret Ackerly.

The heart shaped pieces swing on the curled vines that are attached to the ear wires. The earrings measure 7/8" across and 1" tall. Marked with her hallmark and sterling on the back of each one....

Vintage set of Mexican fine silver concave cufflinks signed by Antonio Pineda, this pair is wrought in the renowned Taxco modernist's .970 alloy. I love the sculptural lusciousness of the flat-bottomed ovoid body and the wave-like motion by which its edges rise and drop around the central hollow. In a slick mid-century design that can be easily enjoyed by just about everybody the cufflinks are 1 3/16" long by 7/8" wide and weigh 23.4 grams (for the set). A pair of vintage brooches from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis, one in the shape of a 6 pointed star and the other a whale. Great hammered textures.

The whale measures 3 1/8" long and 5/8" wide. The star measures 1 3/8" across and 1 1/4" high.

Both are marked Sterling and with the crossed JL mark of the artist. The clasps hold securely. They are in fine condition with some minor scratches. Warm patina.

Quality pieces. Classic John Lewis designs.
