One of the techniques the Los Castillo workshop pioneered, “pluma Azteca” uses dyed bird feathers as inlay to adorn jewelry and other decorative items. Quite impressive in their colorful vibrancy, the feathers can also be vulnerable, especially when they are left exposed, resulting in a rather small number of “pluma” jewelry having survived over the years. A stylish 14Kt white gold, diamond and ruby dome ring from the 1960-s is centered by a 0.40 Ct round faceted natural ruby. The design around the ruby consists of 27 marquee shapes, and each shape is set with a single-cut diamond and arranged in a spiral. The approximate total weight of all diamonds is 0.30 Ct. The ring is a size 4 ½ and it can easily be sized.

This 18 karat yellow gold retro Tiffany & Co. stick pin engraved with a gracefully leaping reindeer shows off the fanciest of Christmas cheer. The piece is signed Tiffany and marked 18k on the back. There are a few superficial scratches, as seen in the photos, but otherwise the piece is in excellent condition. The measurement of the oval disc is 18 millimeters by 13 millimeters.

An amazing modernist large sterling silver pendant with a 28" chain by Jens Peter Clausen Gudjonsson of Iceland. Signed JENS Handmade Iceland and 925S. Pendant measures about 3 5/8" long and 3" across at the widest. Thick sterling. Really stands out! Great example of Scandinavian modernist design.

Alfredo Villasana was one of the finest Maestros of the Mexican Silver Renaissance. This treasure is a hand made pectoral that is shadow boxed with a nielo underneath and leaves styled and cut out with precision running across the top. The necklace weighs 105 grams of thick silver. We love the organic beauty of these Art Nouveau period biomorphic form cufflinks. The camera does not reflect the transluscent light of the slightly mysterious looking natural nuggets of smoky quartz. The gold filled toggle backs are stamped PAT. 29920363. Measurements: 5/8in long x 1/2 in wide approximately. Condition of stones is perfect, minor wear to plate.

A particularly nice Art Nouveau four-leaf clover honeymoon watch pin, the leaves beautifully enameled in shades of translucent green, yellow and rust. The 14K yellow gold crescent moon is set with a graduated row of pearls, while an old European cut diamond centers the clover. The back retains the original clasp and watch hook...

A whimsical, solid gold pendant with applied owl, boat, eagle, caterpillar and ship's wheel. The latter is accented by a round brilliant cut diamond and the owl and eagle both have diamond eye accents. This large pendant is 1-3/4" round and weighs a hefty 15.4 grams. Both the boat and owl are marked 14k along with the Larter logo.

This necklace was manufactured by Dior, Germany. It is a gold plated base metal, with rhinestones. It is approximately 1" square.

It is in excellent condition.

A lovely Art Nouveau 14K yellow gold pin in the form of a violet, each of the petals worked in soft shades of violet, rose, cream and green. The flower is centered with a 10-pt old European cut diamond. In the Victorian language of flowers, the violet represented faithfulness. The back is marked “14K”.

Origin: America, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage, all original. Size: 1-1/8” x 7/8”.

The 3-D design is so beautiful with rhinestones triple layered to resemble flower heads as the focal point of the necklace and earrings. The incredible colors are another reason for the strong attraction. The rhinestones are superb, saturated with color and so bright they mesmerize.

A pretty late Georgian example of a Halley’s Comet pin worked in 14K (perhaps 15K) yellow gold and featuring a light blue paste stone to represent the comet’s nucleus. The paste is set in an elegant buttercup-type setting accented with an engraved gallery. Blue paste is less common than other colors, and makes a very nice presentation. The comet’s tail depicted in the engraved and voluted gold setting.

In 1705, Edmond Halley correctly predicted the comet’s return in 1758...
