This ring depicts a climbing snake. It is adjustable in size. The head of the snake is set in abalone. It is marked TAXCO 925, then (hard to read) MEXICO and maker's initials. It also has the Government assay spread eagle mark with a 3 inside.

This mid-century bracelet from Los Ballesteros is a book-piece design, shown in "Warman's Jewelry" by Christie Romero. Certainly one of the most sought after designs from Los Ballesteros, this is a stand-out showpiece. It's large and heavy and supremely gorgeous, with colorful faceted stones in vivid hues alternating between incised stars. Closed, wearable length is 6 3/4", with a width of 1 11/16". Weight is a very substantial 140.9 grams, or over 4.5 troy ounces. Collector quality.

A superb modernist 18K yellow gold pendant set with a large bi-color tourmaline. Haroldo Burle Marx was particularly known for his bold use of very large gemstones, often fashioned by carving or tumbling rather than faceting. Adorable unusual vintage circa 1970 cocktail ring in the form of a zebra, in goldtone metal with fired enameling, with opaque black faceted stones as eyes, and colorless rhinestones accenting the ears and nose. Solid cast metal, and the same quality as Ciner enameled animal pieces, which of course were in the style of the iconic 1960s and 1970s David Webb animal form fine jewelry. Perhaps an unsigned Ciner. Stunning in its towering smokey brilliance, this minimalist solitaire by Carmen Beckmann is a modernist Mexican beauty! Based in San Miguel de Allende Beckmann is reported to have started her activity a little later than the big Mexico City and Taxco workshops with most of her pieces dating in the 1950s and 1960s. A classic combination for Enrique Ledesma, the marrying of sterling and stone, makes this vintage Mexican bracelet an easily recognizable creation by the renowned Taxco modernist. The stone is here azur-malachite, I believe, with greens and browns predominant and the warmth of the silver casings adds a certain "inner glow" to it...

This great necklace is circa 1970. It is composed of sterling silver and vibrant, turquoise mosaic inlay-style. It measures 17 3/4" long and consists of 17 links that measure 7/8" x 1/2". Each link is slightly convex. It is marked TAXCO MEXICO 925 in a circle, with LVR in the middle and marked TU-08 below. It has a V-Spring and Box Clasp. It has good heft, weighing 70 grams / 2.5 ounces and it is in very good condition.

A vintage modernist heavy sterling silver cuff bracelet by Antonio Pineda, Taxco embellished with four pearls. Thick sterling curved bars attached with spheres and four small saucers with a pearl in each one. Measures 5 1/2" around with an opening of 1 1/4" and 15/16" wide. Marked with the Antonio crown, Silver, 970, Sterling Mexico and an Early Eagle 17 mark. The saucers on the edges have some minor flattening. Sterling has some minor scratches and a little tarnish. Wonderful and rare.

A handsome pair of18K white gold cufflinks featuring flat discs of richly colored synthetic blue spinel. The “Spinel Disc” design is from Longmire’s “Contemporary 18K” line. The simple design and vibrant color has a very 1960s feel about it. The cufflinks are finished with toggle backs. Each is stamped with 18K hallmarks and with Longmire’s maker’s mark. The cufflinks are currently available from Longmire’s London boutique for $2200.

Gorgeous vintage 1970s necklace with very big genuine Mediterranean red coral graduated beads in soft barrel shapes, hand knotted in a continuous strand. It weighs 189 grams. The beads are polished and smooth, with many naturally occurring openings and some areas of dark brown and cream, again naturally occurring. The coral is guaranteed, genuine, natural, and undyed. A lovely 18K yellow and white gold and ruby heart-shaped love pendant (“medaille d’amour”) with a rebus spelling out Plus qu’hier, moins que demain,” (“More than yesterday, less than tomorrow.”) a line from the love poem written by Rosemonde Gérard to her husband Edmond Rostand (author of “Cyrano”) in 1889. The word “plus” is symbolized by a plus sign in white gold and the word “moins” by a minus sign set with rectangular cut synthetic rubies...

Made in the middle period of Taxco's 20th c. Silver Renaissance and signed by listed yet still unidentified maestros, these two came to me as a pair and this is the way I would like to send them out to their next new, loving home...

This great bracelet measures 7" long. It features 13 sterling and enamel charms that connotes travel throughout the United States and Canada. Each charm is marked with a sterling mark, as well as a maker's hallmark a sterling mark, as well as a maker's mark, as does the bracelet itself. It has good heft (just over 1 ounce), and is excellent condition.

A multi-talented award-winning artist, Arno Malinowski worked for Georg Jensen for several years and created some iconic designs for the company. His most popular pieces are brooches wrought in sterling and inspired by the natural world - deer, birds, dolphins, alone or in delicately depicted foliage, their bodies rendered with such sensitivity, one feels compelled to constantly run one's fingers over them.
