This impressive sterling silver & obsidian pendant & chain was designed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling in the late 1940's. The pendant with bail is 3 1/2" high X 2" wide. The heavy, original sterling chain is 18" long. The pendant with chain weighs 82 grams. The carved volcanic arrow beautifully reflects deep, rich colors as it moves & catches the light. Fabulous chandelier drop earrings in sterling with brilliant rock crystal stones in openback deep settings with tiny prongs. Circa 1910 or 1920. The backs of the screw posts are marked STERLING. Beautifully detailed and dimensional gold washed 800 silver pin depicting old Roman scene of two women primping. Very sculptural, it has architectural borders and is cut on both sides as though taken from a larger sculpture. It is signed "800 with a maker's mark" and is in excellent condition. A fascinating pair of double-sided Continental silver cufflinks, each face featuring the image of Medusa. The faces are intended to suggest ancient coins, but the stylized lines are very much in the Cubist style. Though her appearance was capable of turning a man to stone, Medusa's image was often used to ward off evil spirits. The backs are stamped with French import marks.

This Mexican sterling bracelet has a warrior-like feel, with its shield-like openwork panels. The domed centers are set with small black glass cabochons that could be obsidian. The tongue-and-groove clasp is very secure, and the connectors between the panels exhibit are well soldered.
