A very fine mid 20th century neo-impressionist silk screen print of a small village scene, possibly European. The print is an artist proof signed d fritz - we believe, but could be d frity. The foreground tree is spectacular. Condition is very good but is faded somewhat and has a tear in the margin which we hope to fix before selling. Dimension: 29" x 21" sheet

Two antique French statues: first one depicting a violinist, signed "A. Moreau"; 9 3/4 inches in height, second one, three putti, signed "Peylo", 5 1/2 inches high, both from late 19th century period and each mounted on marble base, conditions consistent with age. Provenance: NH Estate.

Sir Frank Brangwyn, British, 1867-1956, "Scaffolding, No. 1 (L`Échafaudage)," etching, plate measures 19 x 20 3/4 inches on 24 1/2 x 29 1/2 inch wove type paper. A richly inked drypoint from 1919. Catalog reference: Gaunt 245. Edition of 54. Pencil signed in the lower right. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.

Jackson Lee Nesbitt 1913-2008 American Regionalist This is a fine regionalist etching by American artist Jackson Lee Nesbitt. The title is: Evening in March, it was created and printed in 1942. The image measures 11 3/4X8 5/16 inches. Hand signed and titled in pencil. Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.

Dorsey Potter Tyson 1891-1969 American This is a very fine original hand colored drypoint etching by American artist Dorsey Potter Tyson. The title is: Dragon Boat Festival, this etching was created and printed in 1929 in an edition of 100, this one is numbered as 42/100. This pencil signed etching measures an image of 11 7/8X9 7/8 inches. It is nicely framed in an orientalist frame with french matting.

Tavik F. Simon 1877-1942 Czech This is an original soft ground etching and aquatint by Austrian artist Tavik F. Simon. The scene is: The Kiosks on the Grand Boulevards, in Paris. This etching was created and printed in 1926 in an edition of 200, published by G. Petit, Paris. The image appears in the Novak catalog as image number N.123. The image measures 13 3/4X16 3/4 inches. This etching is in the early frame with french matting. Pencil signed lower right and numbered 6 of the edition

A fine miniature painting done with watercolors on natural material. The sitter is dressed in a diaphanous white gown edged in pale blue at the bodice, with a similar scarf trailing from her towering hair style.

The reverse of the portrait deserves special mention as it depicts a sheaf of wheat done with meticulous hairwork, cinched with a gold band and set against a mother of pearl background. Wheat was often used to symbolize immortality and resurrection...

Anders Zorn 1860-1920 Sweden This is an original etching by well known Swedish artist Anders Zorn. The title is: Dal River, created and printed in 1919. This impression measures 7X4 5/8 inches, printed on a medium weight laid type sheet. hand signed in pencil lower right. This image appears in the Asplund catalog as image number 284. One of his series of nude bathers that he is well known for.

A nicely done portrait miniature of a gentleman, executed in watercolor on natural organic material. Housed in its original ebonized wood frame which has an interesting musical motif as the hanger base.

No condition issues for either the painting or the frame. Sight size is 2 7/8" by 2 1/4", and the framed size is 4 3/4" by 4 1/4".

Jacques Reich, American, 1852-1923, "Portrait of Whistler," Etching by Jacques Reich after the painting by Giovanni Boldini, image size 20 5/8 x 11 1/2 inches, 1916, pencil signed. Whistler's signature is etched below the image, Boldini's in the lower left corner of the image.

A nice miniature painting done by Christopher Greiner. The sitter is a gentleman in a black coat and tie, but Greiner emphasized the somber feel of the painting by using a background of black and dark green.

The painting has no condition flaws, and is housed in a cast foliate pendant case with hair in the glazed aperture on the back...

Hand signed in pencil and numbered 13/35, this unframed limited edition lithograph by Spratling titled ACUITLAPAN was produced in 1931 from his original drawing for his book LITTLE MEXICO. The lithograph measures 16" X 11.5". The landscape image is about 6.5" X 7.5". This is one of 7 lithographs we purchased from Weyhe Gallery in NY in 1995. The gallery had a long time relationship with Spratling dating back to his very early days in Taxco. The lithograph is in beautiful condition...
