No listed artist by this name comes up in any net searches I've made so I will consider this a fine work by a talented though unlisted artist. It was probably executed within the past twenty years. Condition is excellent. You'll easily find a standard size 24" by 36" frame to complement the work.

I believe the type of painting might well be called "hard edge", there being sharp delineations between strips of color. The painting is on a coarse weave canvas, almost like burlap or jute, laid down on an old board, on the back of which is a color print of a landscape. Found in Phoenix, Arizona, this is a striking and unusual modern work by a talented but so far unidentified hand, 20" by 24" plus narrow simple wood frame, signed at lower right and dated there 1981. The scene is buildings, depicted in a semi-abstract, even cubist manner, all in various earth tones such as cream, tan, brown, and yellow. A pale blue sky and foreground makes for a cooling, interesting contrast. The Christian cross towering over it all adds a mysterious element...
