This is a simple yet competently painted work by an artist whose identity remains unknown to me. I have searched online and feel this could be by a female Arkansas artist, but that would be just a guess. Condition is excellent.

There is an old crack at upper right as shown, not especially visible to the casual viewer, and I note some flaking and unstable paint in the lower 1/4 of the painting (see bright yellow underpaint showing through----ask for more detailed photos of this).

From a local estate, the homeowners having spent much time in Southeast Asia, an oil on panel unframed and unsigned painting of a younger man wearing some traditional simple clothing. The piece measures 26 3/4" by 23 3/4" and dates to the late 20th century. It is competently painted, the figure tightly outlined, the colors muted gray and tan and white, his waistband area providing a spare touch of bright color.

Oil on thin canvas painting of a classic American Indian with chief's feather headdress, executed in a charmingly naive style by an amateur artist around the year 1960 I would guess. The work measures 17" by 14" in its oak simple sturdy frame. When purchased it was behind broken glass, so has survived in excellent, clean condition. This is a very contemporary work, unframed, on a wood or masonite panel, 8 3/4" by 12", signed (incised) at lower right corner "EW" and dated there "01". The scene is a city street, depicted in rather bright color, in an impressionist technique; what is quite unusual here is the added medium used, the surface obviously having been worked with wax (I believe this might be called "encaustic" when used in a painting)...

A vintage study in charcoal of an infant on its back, 12" by 15" (16" by 19" framed), signed at lower right with what appears as "H Collins", and dated adjacent Sept. 14, 1953. I do not see a listed name that would correspond with this name or variants of it. The study is artistic, reminiscent of timeless Italian Renaissance drawings. There is age toning of the paper and some lighter, whitish areas at lower left, above the infant's left arm, and at lower right.

It is in fair condition, with soiling, stretcher bar show-through/uneven canvas, and two very small punctures at sky on right in a cloud at a few inches above the signature. If you like the painting you could hang it as-is, or you could invest money to fix it up.

Young Flute Player is the title of an oil painting by Benedetto Luti from the 1720’s, now in the Hermitage. An earlier version by Luti depicted a young boy in a blue jacket without any instrument. This engraving, made by Victor Marie Picot was published in London in 1780 as Boy and Lute, obviously mixing up the motif and the artist (!). THREE Asian (Chinese, I think, but possibly Korean) watercolor on silk paintings, each 9 1/2" by 11 3/4" (14 1/2" by 18 1/2" in gold framing), contemporary/late 20th century, featuring classic Asian landscapes of dramatic hills and tea houses and pines, making for a very decorative trio for your Asian-inspired interior. A few slight imperfections are present in the frames, but they are very minor. The drawings are in excellent condition.

Watercolor painting of a dramatic western American mountain, unframed, executed on a 12" by 17 1/2" sheet of watercolor paper, unsigned. The mountain resembles the pyramidal Going to the Sun Mountain in Montana's Glacier National Park, but I suppose this could be elsewhere in the great American west. This is a difficult to describe painting----we see a beach on a summer's day, the blue sea beyond; budding clouds, a spiky yucca at left, and what look at first like children's sandbox toys in the sand, until it appears that maybe they're not children's sandbox toys.
