An extremely well painted American miniature portrait of a young boy wearing a black coat, white shirt and cravat. He is posed in front of a red drapery. Rather than being done as these miniatures usually were, in watercolor on ivory, this is a far rarer oil on copper example.

The painting is in excellent condition, and has just a slight bit of rubbing at a couple of spots where it meets the period stamped brass frame...

A fine silhouette done in black and bronze gilt, of an older woman. Although unsigned, the work was unquestionably done by John Field. The reverse of the gilt metal case, which comes with its silk lined red leather travel case, has elaborate and tightly woven hairwork of two colors, indicating that one of them was hers, while the other was of a loved one.

Both the miniature and the case are in excellent condition...

A large etching titled, “Veduta della Gran Curia Innocenziana,” (View of the Palazzo di Monetcitorio) part of Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s folio of Views of Rome, first published in 1752. The etchings were often reproduced, but this one has both the correct heavy laid paper with appropriate watermark and the center crease where it was folded into the original folio. This is a very well-painted miniature depicting a courtly scene of a nobleman and his companion on the terrace of a palace. Although Mughal in style, I am not 100% convinced that the painting is indeed of the period. For that reason, I am listing it as decorative only and have priced it accordingly. The trellised outer border which surrounds the painting itself is embellished with what appears to be metallic silver highlights. The painted area within the trellised frame measures 4-1/4" X 8"...

A strong watercolor on organic wafer portrait of a British staff officer. With his mutton-chop whiskers, he is dressed in the well-known red jacket, and sports gold epaulettes. The painting is housed in a wonderful gilt bronze brooch with a guilloche silver back, which displays a nicely tied curl of hair under a glazed aperture.

Sight size is 1 1/2" by 1 1/4", with an overall size of 1 3/4" by 1 1/2". The condition of the painting and the case is excellent, with no issues at all...

This is a relatively modern Buddhist painting, done entirely by hand, depicting Lhamo, a Buddhist protector deity.
