A beautifully executed miniature portrait painting, on natural organic wafer, signed and dated, lower left, "Legenvre 1813". The sitter is a nice looking young gentleman with curly hair and hazel eyes, wearing a dark blue coat, white shirt and ascot, and pink edged vest.

Condition is excellent, with no cracks, bowing, or restoration...

Frank Benson, American, 1862-1951, "Flying Widgeon". A very fine sporting etching by Frank Benson, this image measures 9 3/4 x 14 3/4 inches, published in 1924, cat: Ordeman-231, pencil signed below the image, titled on the lower edge of the sheet. Benson was a very successful painter and a member of "The Ten" along with Childe Hassam and J. Alden Weir, before he began his sporting paintings and etchings for which he is most widely known...

Olivia, a pretty young woman in a pale blue gown, is painted in a soft manner, with luminescent skin tones, as was the Italianate style of the time. The artist composed the painting very carefully, with the almost cloud-like hair framing the face and curling down to follow the neckline of her dress...

Diana Thorne, American, b. 1895, "Russians". An energetic image of a young woman walking her two Russian wolfhounds, this etching measures 5 7/8 x 7 7/8 inches, c. 1930, pencil signed below the image, titled on the lower margin. Diana Thorne was a well known early 20th century artist and illustrator, known especially for her etchings of dogs and illustrations of numerous children's books.

Lovis Corinth, German, 1858-1925, "Munter Und Kind".A soft ground etching by German Expressionist artist Lovis Corinth, this image measures 12 1/2 x 9 3/8 inches, published in 1910 in an edition of 50 impressions, state I/III, cat: Schwarz-41, "LC" monogram in the upper left of the image, a faded signature below the image. In 1971 Haku Maki produced two large prints, one Sun and one Moon. Sun shows a dramatic sun with a red dash all surrounded by a gold field-- Poem 71-100. Poem 72-101 is Moon with a similar design. There is a dark spot in the center. Each print was produced in editions of 156. This pair was offered privately and on eBay by a very insightful seller from Tennessee. After these presumably successful runs Maki did a smaller pair, each with the same title and same design...

William Lionel Wyllie, British, 1851-1931, "Sugar Boats off Greenwich". This lovely atmospheric image by William Wyllie measures 4 7/8 x 12 7/8 inches, pencil signed on the l.l. and created c. 1920. This is a view of Greenich from the Isle of Dogs with a view of the Royal Navel Academy on the left with the domes of the Royal Observatory high in the background. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker, studying at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and then at the at the Royal Academy...
