He is identified by engraving on the reverse of the case as J.A. Reed...

Original etching by Stephen Parrish, "Low Tide Bay of Fundy", 1881, 3rd state of 3. Image size is 12 X 19 inches, hand signed in pencil lower right border. Catalog: SP64. Printed with sepia toned ink on wove type paper. Sheet size is 14 1/4 X 21 inches.

This 1862 oil on canvas by the British artist Alfred Vickers measures 11 3/4 x 15 3/4 inches, signed and dated l.l., housed in original frame, partial European label on back. Born in London, Vickers was a self-taught landscape painter, who exhibited at the British Institute and the Royal Academy.

This 1927 etching by the American artist Roland Clark measures 7 7/8 x 9 3/4 inches, pencil signed and titled. Roland Clark studied at The Art Students League with J. Carroll Beckwith in New York. An avid outdoorsman he combined his love of the outdoors into his many paintings and etchings. Selected to do the 1938 Federal Duck Stamp Design, he also wrote and illustrated books about his hunting experiences.

Original intaglio by Wendell H. Black (American, 1919-1972). First edition, and a rare example of a work actually printed and signed by the artist (This first edition was later completed posthumously by Berkley Chappell.) Titled "S/P '50-'55" lower left, numbered 4/25 center, and signed W. Black '55 lower right. In a period mid-century frame. 22 by 15 image alone, 33 by 24 in the frame. Provenance available.

From our European Collection, a very fine original painting entitled "The Duet," by 19th century watercolor master George Goodwin (G.G.) Kilburne (1839-1924). We've seen a fair amount of Kilburne watercolors, as he was a pretty prolific artist of his day, but we think this is one of his better pieces. To paint as realistically as he does in just watercolor, as opposed to oil paint, is really a special talent all of its own. Signed lower right...

A wonderful original Oil Painting by renowned Italian Painter MERIO AMEGLIO (1897-1970), depicting the Flower Market at the Place de la Madeleine, PARIS. A strong oil on wood portrait of a gentleman sporting a long ponytail, and wearing a large black hat, a ruffled white shirt, a brownish-gray jacket. Cleverly executed to look like the painting is oval and in a mat, in actuality the entire surface is painted and is not a mat.

The condition of this work is excellent, with no issues or restoration. The frame, which is modern, nicely complements this work sight size is 6 1/2" by 4 1/2", with the framed size being 8 3/4" by 7".

A Franck L. Paris France oil on panel painting dated 1969. An excellent example of 1960s French Modernism, this painting is by the renowned painter Franck.L. and is an early work by this respected artist who is still producing. Born in 1944, he started exhibiting in 1966 and his works have been shown at the Musee d’Art Moderne in Paris.
