This is a relatively earlier (1976 or before) work of the noted Bermudian artist ALFRED BIRDSEY (1912-1996). Birdsey was a familiar figure in Bermuda for decades, a prolific artist, the works of whom traveled with tourists when they returned from holidays. This would account for the wide distribution of his distinctive work. Today his daughter continues the family tradition, with similar looking paintings being sold to visitors. This is a set of four fine engravings, circa 1875 or 1880, judging from the fashion depicted. All are hand colored. Size as framed 15 1/2" by 12 3/4" (one without glass, which had shattered).
