Raphael Soyer, N.A., NY 1899-1987. This charming portrait of a nude black haired woman with upturned arms is oil on canvas. It is about 8" by 10" in a lovely newer frame. It was in the private collection of a prominent North Carolina Art Dealer.

Claude Charles Buck, Santa cruz, California, 1890-1974. This stunning jewel is Claude Buck at his usual dreamy best. It is oil on board of a beautiful red haired mother and child in a landscape with a crescent moon and flowers. It is 8.5" w by 12" h in a lively french styled frame with overall dimensions of 17.5" w by 21" h. It is oil on board, signed and has an additional drawing on the back. It is framed in a beautiful gold leaf frame...

Ottavio Padovanino, Italian, 1582-1634. This stunning drawing is red chaulk and pencil on paper mounted on paper. It is 15"H by 10.6"W with the name Padovanino handwritten in pencil on the paper below the drawing. Verso is written Alessandro Varotari, Verona, 1588-1648, "Le Padovau...." The condition is good with minor foxing and a darkened edge due to framing. It was in a private collection in Chicago.

A superb double silhouette on natural organbic material, in a cast foliate locket, by John Field. One side is of a woman, the other of a man, wearing spectacles (highly unusual) and both are signed "John Field 111 Strand" along the lower edge of the bust line. These paintings display the finely executed bronzed work that was a hallmark of Field's.

The sight size is 1 1/2" by 1 1/4"...

A charming and beautifully rendered watercolor portrait, of a very attractive young woman, painted by Emanuel Reynolds. The sitter is dressed in the height of fashion for the period, around 1837, with a spangled diaphanous blue shawl over a low cut, pleated, black dress highlighted with a central blue brooch...

Lovely winter scene oil on canvas, by Paul Caron, a well known Canadian artist whose works are in collections at the National Gallery of Canada and the Museumof the Province of Quebec. The painting measures 23" wide x 17 1/2" tall on the inside of the frame. The paint is cracked and should probably be relined, but it is all intact.

Beautiful, large Victorian oil on canvas of waterlilies floating in a pond. Dated l885, this lovely painting measures 48" wide x 13" tall.

Beautiful pair of oils on board by J. Langstaffe, British, late 19th century. They each measure 23" wide x 15" high on the inside.

A fine miniature portrait painting, strongly attributed to Samuel Broadbent. The sitter is reputedly Michael Butler, founder of the Union News Company. The attribution is based on the heavy coloring used in the sitter's face, the positioning in the painting of the sitter, the background technique, and the similarity to the example in the Manney collection.

The painting is in excellent condition, with no cracks, bowing, or restoration...

Anton Otto Fischer (1882-1962) German-American Artist. "WINTER STREAM" Oil on Canvas. Dimensions; 28" x 21"; site 24" x 18". Excellent condition. Fischer was born in Munich Germany, and came to NY in 1903; he died in Woodstock NY. He studied at the Academie Julien, Paris, 1906-1908. He exhibited in many museums, including the Brandywine River Museum, in PA.

George Philbert Charles Maroniez, French (1865-1933). Oil on Canvas; "Surf". Signed G Maroniez, Lower Right. Gilt frame. Dimensions; 18" x 15"; site 10" x 8". Excellent condition. George Maroniez was a member of the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1889, and started exhibiting there when he was just 22. He won several awards and was made Knight of the Legion of Honor.
