Blanche Camus, French, 1881-1968. This wonderful portrait of a woman on a terrace is 18.5" by 21.2" in an impressive 6" French Impressionist Frame. The canvas has been relined and there is minimal inpainting on the canvas with no repairs. It is from circa 1920-30 and is an extremely fine example of the use of broken brush strokes to convey the spray of sunshine and shadows in the scene.

"The Reading" Watercolor on paper, 23.25" x 17.5" unframed Paul Doering is a Dutch artist born in Holland, He studied under the artists Joseph Israels and B. Lommers. He migrated to New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 1880s and was active in the art scene of Louisiana. He then migrated to Laguna Beach, California in 1911. He was very active in the southern California art scene through the 1930s. He is listed in the Who's Who in American Art" as well as the Artist's Blue Book 2005 Edition...

Wagner exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy over 35 times from 1906-1940, winning prizes in 1914 and 1922. Wagner exhibited at the Carnegie 14 times from 1898 - 1925. He showed two works at the Armory Show, and exhibited 11 times at the Corcoran between 1907 - 1935. He had a special exhibit of 100 pastels, at the Corcoran in April 1924...

An unframed, unstretched oil on canvas painting of famous author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle relaxing in his chair, pipe in hand and faithful Irish Terrier dog "Paddy" at his side. The work is unsigned, and likely dates to circa 1920. Could be American or European; the unknown artist was obviously trained and skilled. The painting is blanched---a cleaning would likely minimize or totally remove that condition. The tacking edge has been removed. Measurements are 17 1/2" by 13 1/2"...

"Paris Street Scene" Oil on board 15.75" x 7.75" unframed, 20.5"x 12.75" framed This French artist studied at Rotterdams Academy of Art. He spent most of his career painting narrative street scenes of Paris for which he became renowned. His is a well listed artist and his work can be found in galleries throughout the world.

Hans Müller was born in 1873. He was a sculptor, and the son of Francis Xavier. Muller studied at the School of Applied Arts and Academy in Vienna under Edmund von Hellmer and Karl Ludwig August Kuehne. He worked from 1900 to 1905 in the studio of Friedrich Christoph Hausmann Frankfurt am Main. Since 1909, he has been a member of the Viennese artists cooperative.

Francoise Charles Cachoud, French, 1866-1943. This pensive and beautifully painted French Country House Scene in the moonlight is another wonderful example of Cachoud's genius with light and shadow and contrast. It is oil on canvas 23" by 28" in a period 3" frame for dimensions of 29" by 34".
