For the collector of scarce early Utah art, an oil on canvas, 22" by 18" on the stretchers (29" by 25" in old, likely original frame), dated 1928 and titled on reverse "Timpanogos Creek", signed lower left by the noted Utah artist BENT FRANKLIN LARSEN (1882-1970). (There is also some old writing on paper adhering to the frame but it is difficult to read). Timpanogos Creek is a scenic area near Provo, Utah. Larsen is a well-known figure in Utah art...

At first glance most would think this a print, but it is guaranteed to be an original drawing. The work on paper, measuring 22" by 18", and 27" by 23" in contemporary gold framing, is signed at lower left in a flowing signature "Petzoldt", followed by "Mchn. 28" (Munich, 1928). The handwriting of the signature and overall nineteenth century appearance of the drawing suggests this could be 1828, but the paper would definitely appear to be of the 20th century...

An ORIGINAL drawing of a mid-19th century gentleman, 8 1/2" by 5 7/8" (16" by 13 1/2" framed), signed at lower right by the well-listed French-born artist, etcher and sculptor, ALPHONSE LEGROS (1837-1911). The drawing is primarily in soft pencil, with some watercolor in the suggestion of a chair, and some faint red in the face area. Legros was born in Dijon in eastern France. He was in Paris while still young, exposed to the art world there...

Affixed to the backing is a very old Spectrum Club/Long Beach label and the title "Breakers", and the date June 8, 194(X). The watercolor is very light and impressionistic; there could be even sun fading, or this effect could be the way the artist painted it; difficult to determine...

Signed and titled twice, in the print and in blue pencil at bottom. Print is hinged at top of matt. Matt opening measures about 20 1/2" by 14 1/2", overall matt about 28 1/2" by 22 1/2".

An old watercolor painting of the Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy, signed at lower left by the noted artist VITTORE ZANETTI-ZILLA (1869-1946). Measurements are 9 1/2" by 13 1/4" (14 3/4" by 18 1/2" as framed). The artist studied in Venice and in his mid twenties traveled through Europe, which had an effect on his style. He exhibited at Munich in 1893 and in Buenos Aires in 1910. After World War I, the artist remained in Milano. Solo exhibitions of his work took place in 1918 and 1920...
