Original Currier and Ives lithograph print "The Straw-Yard, Winter", 12 3/4" by 15 1/2" inside the overmat, 20" by 22 1/2" as framed, the subject quite desirable: a white horse, a dark brown horse in the center, surrounded by a veritable menagerie of a winter barnyard in the country, including contented pigs eating their turnips at left, ducks and pigeons pecking away underneath and around the horses, and a pigeon even perched on a snowy fence post, face to face with the white horse, as other h...
Christ Before the Pharisees. Rembrandt Lithograph (1636). 19th Century Impression. 21 x 17". Frame Size 32 x 28".
Rembrandt created some 300 etchings and drypoints from about 1626 to 1665. His career as a printmaker ran parallel to his career as a painter—he rarely treated the same themes in both media and only occasionally did he reproduce his paintings in prints.

This is a classic landscape of high mountains in the American west---possibly Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho or Montana, or the Pacific Northwest. The peak has a volcanic look to it so I might lean towards Oregon or Washington or Northern California even. The artist was born in Joliet, Illinois, and died there...

Oil on canvas painting of a calf standing in a tawny meadow, 12" by 12" (15 1/4" by 15 1/4" in simple wood frame), signed at lower left "Hutcheson". This is a simple yet competently painted work by an artist whose identity remains unknown to me. I have searched online and feel this could be by a female Arkansas artist, but that would be just a guess. Condition is excellent.
For the collector of Ashcan School/The Eight, or early 20th century American art, here is a special work: a pencil signed print by JOHN SLOAN (1871-1951), titled "Man Monkey", and inscribed "100 proofs". **THREE** identically framed watercolor paintings of classic Greek scenes, each signed at lower left by well listed Greek artist KONSTANTINOS SOFIANOPOULOS (1910-1990). The subjects are small boats or fishing boats, with scenery beyond, including a cliffside temple, in one. As framed, they measure 21 1/2" by 17 1/2" each. A charming miniature portrait by Susan Penelope Rosse, executed in gouache on gesso-washed vellum or card. The sitter is a sweet looking girl with long hair, wearing a blue gown with white lace edging at the bodice. The case for the miniature deserves special mention, being a flip type made of testudines shell with gold mounts.
The painting is in quite fine condition, with no issues, as is the clever case...

PAIR of watercolor paintings of young women, one walking on a path, appearing very young, sweet and naive, a pitcher in hand (possibly a milk maid), the other a more sophisticated lady in a sun bonnet and elegant dress, watering can in hand, attending to her potted geraniums. Although the works themselves are of the same size, and frames are identical in style, the frames differ slightly in size...
