A fine portrait of a lovely young girl, oil on canvas, 14" by 10 1/2", unframed, signed at upper left by listed French artist MAURICE JACQUET (1877-). Jacquet seems to have painted mainly portraits of young women, but a few landscapes are known. This work has just been cleaned and relined, as when found it had a very dry blanched unstable surface, and some loss areas...

Finnish Artist Arthur Heickell 1873-1958 “ Religious Still Life” Measuring 20” x 16” oil on canvas, framed.

Portrait of a woman by French artist Jean-Jacques Henner (1829-1905). Board: 9.25"L x 12.9"H framed 18.5" L x 14.75" w. Henner entered the École des Beaux-Arts and won the Prix de Rome in 1858. He exhibited paintings in the Salon, many now in the Musée d'Orsay. In 1889, he became commander of the Legion of Honour and succeeded Cabanel in the Institut de France. In 1900, he won a Grand Prix for painting at the Paris Exposition Universelle. Excellent condition minor age wear.

An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon depicts the most central event in Christianity, the Nativity of our Lord Christ.

The icon is finely hand-painted in bright colors and gold on gesso on a wood panel. It depicts Baby Jesus laying in the cradle in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes, with a Bethlehem star shining from above, flanked by the Virgin Mary and St Joseph.

The upper left part is painted with three kings on horseback traveling in search of Jesus...

Etching of the famous Chicago River surrounded by the classic skyscrapers, signed in the plate and dated 1927 at lower right, by the listed artist OTTO J. SCHNEIDER (1875-1946). Impressionist American landscape painting, late 20th century, 24" by 36", unframed, signed at lower right with what appears as "A. Ullman" or similar. The piece is by a competent artist who knew how to use color and work the paint. A Standard Brands 39 cent sticker for the canvas/stretcher remains affixed, giving some idea as to the age of the piece, perhaps 1960's or 1970's.
