By the noted illustrator artist RICHARD STINE (1941-) this is a print, "Mad woman trying to bury delicate feelings once and for all", hand signed in blue ball point at lower left. This does not seem to be a limited edition but it is hand signed. Stine is a familiar name due to his uniquely humorous and whimsical images, which though cartoonish delve into philosophy, and, an online description writes, "love, art, freedom, isolation, desire, conflict, dreams, creativity"...

Haku Maki did some purely white prints—some had a small splash of color, others had none. This one, 81-3, offers three white plump persimmons. Persimmons were an oft-used subject, sometimes a single depiction of the fruit, sometimes two, but very rarely three persimmons and even more rarely done only in white. The print measures 9.5in W x 10.75in H and is in excellent condition. An edition of 130, this one is number 90.

Drawing of a nude woman lying on her side, 10 1/4" by 15" inside the mat, 16 1/2" by 20" in frameless protective framing, signed at lower right "Sean Mayten" or similar, and dated there 1-13-86. The artist does not appear to be listed, at least under that name or variants of it. He seems to have used perhaps grayish-tan silverpoint or other unusual medium to draw this on a pebbled paper. A finely painted oil on canvas painting illegibly signed and dated 1993, the subject classic goose and duck decoys at left, a shotgun at top, the other props including a green book, pen, feathers, and two red shotgun shells, measuring 18" by 24" (25 1/2" by 31 1/2" framed in interesting black with gold frame, as found). The signature is difficult to decipher. The painting is in excellent condition with exception of two or three "X" or cross-shaped cracks in the paint (see photos)...

Impressionist oil painting of stands of white birch trees by a small lake or large pond, painted on the smooth side of Masonite panel, 9 3/4" by 13 1/2" (12 1/2" by 16" as simply framed), apparently unsigned. The scene suggests a northern latitude, perhaps high elevations in the United States, or Canada or northern Europe, but there is little to go on geography-wise. The artist was skilled and created a peaceful little painting in subdued colors...

Born in Denver, CO on Aug. 7, 1897, Curtis was a resident of Seattle before moving to Los Angeles in 1914. He was inspired to become an artist by his teacher Rob Wagner at Manual Arts High School...

Oil on canvasboard, 18" by 24", the subject dramatic, fluted, snowy mountain ridges pictured perhaps in late fall, as autumnal colors dominate the creekside grasses in the foreground, the painting signed at lower left "A. Nebeker" and dated there 1966. The location might be but I feel it could be most likely somewhere like Utah or Colorado in the intermountain West, or possibly the eastern slope of the Sierra in California...

A work over forty years old but very contemporary and stylish in feeling, a watercolor of young female bicycle riders at the beach perhaps, 14" by 21" (23" by 29" framed), signed at lower right by well listed California artist DOUGLASS EWELL PARSHALL (1899-1990). The work is also titled "CYCLISTS" on backing, where the artist has signed again, dated it 1972, and wrote address and, on an affixed sheet, "For West Coast Watercolor Soc'y"...

Oil on board painting of the famous Matterhorn in Switzerland, two small wooden structures in the foreground and elegant trees at left completing the composition. The work is signed at lower right "M M Cole" and is dated there 1981. On the reverse of the frame is written "Miriam '81", so, we likely have an American woman as the artist. Measurements are 18" by 22" and 21 1/2" by 25 1/2" as framed...

Caricature of Martin Heflin by Allen Stone. Heflin was a famed political operative in Washington DC during the 1940s and 50s. He is the brother of movie star Van Heflin and was a poker playing buddy of FDR.

Chinese brush painting by Nie Ou. A well known female artist in China, she was born in 1948. She graduated from the Central Art Academy School in Beijing and has received several awards. Her work is shown worldwide. This is one of seven pictures we have. It is mounted on silk brocade. The entire area is 19 inches by 29 inches; the picture size is 13 inches by 18 inches.

Vintage (circa 1910 or 1920---possibly earlier---) old watercolor landscape of a log bridge over a small creek in a woodland, nicely framed, signed at lower left by listed upstate New York artist ELBRIDGE J. FENN (1857-1934). Fenn seems to have executed landscapes in oil and watercolor, in the area around the old Skaneateles art colony near the Finger Lakes, west of Syracuse. There is not a lot of biographical information to be gleaned from the net, but he was obviously talented...

Rare and Sublime Painted Porcelain Vase by Korean Buddhist Monk Su An Sunim (born 1940) depicting children. It has a warm, creamy slip-painted surface. This is the only ceramic art by Su An Sunim we have ever seen offered for sale. This is an original lithograph by the famous French artist MARC CHAGALL (1887-1985), titled "Le Clown Fleuri" (Clown with Flowers), 1963, from "Lithographes Originales de Marc Chagall", printed by Mourlot. There was a signed (1962) edition with margins, and examples sell between $6,000 and $12,000 at auction (size significantly larger). This appears to be from the unsigned 1963 edition of 2,000 examples, which were of this smaller size...
