This is an interesting example of a monotype, in which art is created on a piece of glass which is then pressed against paper to produce a unique image. The artist is well listed and his paintings sell well at Canadian auctions. At first glance, this work could easily pass for a watercolor; a monotype is something of a hybrid, with characteristics of prints and original art. A soothing contemporary oil on canvas painting of a mule-drawn cart and its rider on a dirt track in the tropical forest, 19 1/2" by 27 1/2", unframed, signed at lower right by artist Fernando Danni or "Darni". I do not see a listing for this name but the artist displays here a skilled impressionist technique. Note the purple, and yellow, blooming trees at right and the fine handling of light and shadow. Condition is excellent.

A well painted oil on board landscape of green fields in the foreground and a tan one in the distance with a group of trees on the left under a cloudy blue sky. The frame is a molded gilt frame. It is a good size; 19 inches tall by 21 ½ inches wide. With frame it is 26 ½ inches by 24 inches.

Condition is excellent with a recent cleaning and new frame.
