Measures 9" wide, 9 5/8" high, and 3" deep, these measurements include the stand. The figure alone is roughly 8 3/4" wide, 7 1/2" high and 2 1/8" deep.
The metal appears to be copper, as it shows through in some small areas where the black surface is worn...
A PAIR of framed black and white artistic photos of male torsos, one signed in pencil on the mat by the noted Hollywood, celebrity photographer, JOHN RUSSO (1969-). Oil on canvas painting of a tawny autumn landscape,15 3/4 " by 20 3/4" (20 3/4" by 25" framed), not signed on the front, but bearing a tattered label with an apparent name beginning with "Eve..", and dedicated on the reverse of the canvas in 1933. (Berlin Estate). Pencil signed lithograph measuring 32”x 24” edition of 99, this is #10 framed and beautifully done……..Luis Feito began his formal training at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (now Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando), Madrid, in 1950. He worked briefly in a figurative style before he discovered Cubism, but in 1954 the Galería Buchholz, Madrid, presented his first solo show of nonfigurative works...
Oil or acrylic on canvasboard abstract painting, larger sized, at 28" by 40" as framed, signed at lower left "KAYE". The art takes after any number of modern painters' work, but the arrows imagery at the bottom portion, suggests to me a bit of Uruguayan painter Joaquin Torres Garcia. The creator of this work (and two others by the same artist I have listed) was probably a talented amateur with an excellent sense of color and a knowledge of modern art. Condition is good...
A large oil mixed with sand painting on canvas, signed on reverse by artist "Durrant", titled there "Rombosity" and dated there 1965. This is an unusually large work by the noted English modernist artist ROY TURNER DURRANT (1925-1998), works of whom sell with some regularity in the United Kingdom. Paint is very thickly applied and is wrinkled in some areas. The work measures an impressive 46" by 33 1/4"...
Beautiful oil on canvas painting of a still life with conch shell signed ‘EN 67’ in a period frame. 20” x 16”
Gouache on paper painting of a lush tropical scene with a few figures and thatched huts under mysterious palm trees, signed at lower right "KOPP" and the word "Rio" after it. This work was likely created in the 1960's or early 1970's at latest, in Brazil. There is no glass nor mat; over time, at top center left in the tree line, and in the sky, the work acquired small paint loss areas, which are overwhelmed b the busyness of the scenery---and they are easily touched up...
Leon Louis Dolice, American, 1892-1960, Etching with Aquatint, image size: 10 5/8 x 6 inches, pencil signed
Very fine Indian miniature painting on marble panel, depicting the royal court with the King on the Throne, close attention to details, use of vibrant gilt colors. The common and typical miniature paintings of this kind includes painting on ivory or paper or wood and this is my first experience involving use of marble in such painting...
Oil on canvas, 20" by 27" and simple wood frame 1 1/4" wide on a side, the subject a ceramic vase with exotic bird motif, on a tabletop, the vase and surrounding area filled with various flowers including carnations, hydrangeas, roses of various colors, and perhaps goldenrod. The work is signed at lower right "G Cocco" (GIUSEPPE COCCO 1879-1963), a listed painter from Naples, Italy. Cocco's signature is hard to decipher and as a result I think he is less known than he should be...
Oil on canvas, 14" by 18", (18 1/2" by 22 1/2" in old possibly original frame), the subject given on original Sanborn Studio, Belfast, Maine label as "Bend in Little River" (faint, but still readable with some effort). The work is not signed but is surely by the important Maine artist PERCY A. SANBORN (1849-1929). Sanborn was born in Waldo, Maine and lived for many years in coastal Belfast...
Master Artist Jean Volang, was born in Vietnam in 1921 and began his painting at an early age when he was taught by a French born teacher who later told him to paint in France, especially Paris where he could make his mark in the world. Never forgetting his roots of his beloved Vietnam, his most celebrated works are of his memories there...
An impressionist oil on canvasboard painting of coastal cliffs, rocks and waves, likely California, signed at lower left in red by listed American painter DAVID SPURLIN JR. (1923-2009). The 11" by 14" work (18 1/2" by 21 1/2" in distressed style wood frame) features strong wave and action, and the five shorebirds at lower right, and their reflections in the wet sand are all beautifully handled. The painting could used a cleaning to remove smoke and yellowed varnish, and there is a hairline 2 1...
