A small watercolor on paper within an oval, featuring a short vase filled with wildflowers, the piece measuring 8" by 7" as framed; at the lower portion in pencil is an inscription in German: "Die Heimat Blumen Grussen Dich", and "Plauen Mai 1920". This translates roughly as "the flowers of home/homeland greet you". "Heimat" evidently is a German word with no clear translation into English...

A well painted oil on board landscape of green fields in the foreground and a tan one in the distance with a group of trees on the left under a cloudy blue sky. The frame is a molded gilt frame. It is a good size; 19 inches tall by 21 ½ inches wide. With frame it is 26 ½ inches by 24 inches.

Condition is excellent with a recent cleaning and new frame.

A refined old drawing titled "Caterskill Clove" dated Oct. 7, 1859, the subject a famed rocky gorge in the eastern part of the Catskill mountains of New York State (google "Catskill Clove" for full information on this renowned scenic area). The work is apparently unsigned. There are any number of listed artists of the Hudson River School who could have created the drawing; Sanford Robinson Gifford, William Hart, Asher Durand and many others of note painted in the area...

Superb 19th century Mexican folk retablo on tin depicting Christ crucified, yet living. The subject is sometimes referred to as "La Vindimia Mistica", and sometimes as "El Varon Eucaristo de Dolores". Blood flows from Jesus' wounds into a chalice and basin as a reminder that Christ suffers daily for the viewer's sins.
