Harold Kerr Eby 1889-1946 American This is an original etching and aquatint by American artist Kerr Eby. The subject is Eby's home which he named Driftway, in Westport Connecticut. This etching is hand signed in pencil and has an image size of 8 3/8X15 3/8 inches. Printed in an edition of 100 in 1939. This image appears in the Giardina catalog as image number 196. Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.

An American miniature portrait painting, on natural organic material, of an older woman, unusual in that the subject is directly facing the viewer, and her image fills practically the entirety of the painting. The sitter has brown eyes, brown hair done in sausage curls, and is wearing a white lace cap and ruffled collar...

A decidedly modern watercolor painting of five liquor bottles, painted in mid century colors, 11" by 15" inside the mat, 23" by 30" in interesting, vintage rubbed reddish gray wood framing, signed at lower right by artist "Linahan". I have been unable to link this to a known artist. The black outlining style of the imagery and, especially the colors chosen by the artist suggest a late 1950's or early 1960's date...

Wax Relined and presented in an intentionally distressed gold wood frame. Image size, 16 x 20 overall framed size 24.5ʺW × 2.5ʺD × 20.5ʺH.

Original oil painting on panel by Max Band (Lithuanian-American, 1900-1974), signed l.l. and dating from the forties or the fifties. In excellent condition and still in its original frame. 23" by 19" in its frame, 14" by 10" painting alone. Max Band is a well-known School of Paris artist. He studied in Berlin in the early twenties before moving to Paris. His first solo exhibition was in his homeland at the National Theatre in Kaunas in 1925. It would be followed by a second in 1932...

An old Orientalist or biblical scene painting, oil on paper on board, 8 1/2" by 13", 16" by 20" framed (no glass), signed in Cyrillic boldly at lower right "Bobrov". The work could perhaps be by one of two listed Russian artists, Aleksei Alekseevich Bobrov (1849-1899), or Viktor Alejewitsch Bobrov (1842-1918), or, it could be by neither artist. What is certain is that this is old, and nicely executed...

Oil on canvas painting of a matador in his suit of lights, 31" by 23", unframed, not signed but inscribed on the stretcher with the name of the artist and title "portrait of a matador".. This is a circa late 1940's or perhaps 1950's work I would guess, by noted listed artist JOSEPH WEISMAN (1907-1994). Weisman was born in the east but was already in California as a young man...

Thinned oil or possibly water-based casein/tempera on small board painting, 7 1/4" by 5 1/4" framed, signed at lower right by noted American artist Carol Jablonsky (1939-1992). The image is of a young female child, I believe of Native American or Mexican heritage. Jablonsky died at a young age but left behind a large body of work, including prints and original paintings. Oil on canvasboard painting of flowers, vase and pot, 9 3/4" by 13 1/2" (14" by 18" framed), signed at lower right "L. E. Thackery". No listed artist comes up with a search for this name, but that does not diminish the quality of the work itself, which probably dates to about the 1940's. There are two missing small areas of paint at left, otherwise condition is excellent. The frame post-dates the art and is pleasant and complementary.
