It shows the equestrian Statue of George Washington surrounded with a wreath, composed of the principle agricultural products of the Confederacy--cotton, tobacco, sugar cane, corn, wheat and rice. It is Marked "The Confederate States of America: 22 February 1862". At the bottom, the motto, "Deo Vindice" (God Favor Our Cause) The Seal was engraved by Joseph S. Wyon, Chief Engraver of Her Majesty's Seals, London, England. The Seal is 18 3/4" Diameter...

Japanese sosaku hanga “kappa-ban” (stencil print) by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992) depicting Zenzoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. The print is pencil-signed “Yoshitoshi Mori” at the lower right. The artist’s red seal is above the signature. The paper measures 16 3/8”V x 12 1/4”H and dates circa 1980s. This print has never been framed and is in very good overall condition.

By the French Symbolist artist MAURICE DENIS (1870-1943), this is a remarque proof on Chine Volant paper, edition of 260, from the year 1939. The print, Cailler #169 in the definitive catalogue raisonne of Denis' prints, is from the "Five Poems" by Francis Thompson...

Russell and I wish I could say more about this painting or the sitter, but the original backing paper, where Russell signed and often threatened people (incorrectly) not to remove the paper, has been removed. However, the painting was clearly done by Russell and closely mirrors one in the Metropolitan Museum...

A contemporary painting featuring the streets of Paris' famous Montmartre, the dome of white Sacre Coeur cathedral towering over narrow streets filled with pedestrians. The work measures 10 1/2" by 8 1/2" (12 3/4" by 10 1/2" as framed in black). The work is signed at lower right "Georges" and on reverse is written "Georges---Paris---2010/Montmartre". Condition of painting is excellent but lower left corner of frame shows some damage and there is scuffing elsewhere. Paint it black or reframe.

Contemporary jadeite carving of a fairy spirit named Liu-Hai. His right hand is holding a three legged frog called ¡°Chan¡±; a string of clouds extends from Chan¡¯s mouth. On the back of the carving is a large fan and on the top of the fan sits a lucky bat. Very interesting carving in good condition. H: 3 ½ inches, W: 2 ¾ inches, D: 1 ¾ inches
