By well listed French artist MAURICE ROMBERG DE VAUCORBEIL (1882-1943), this is a large original 1916 lithograph poster used for propaganda and recruitment. The poster (behind Plexiglas) measures 47 1/2" by 34" (53" by 40" very tastefully framed in dark wood). I have not opened this up to inspect as it is nicely sealed, but the previous owner spent $500 on framing in Beverly Hills, so I would imagine that the mounting and framing was done to professional standards, perhaps even with linen...

A fine cold-painted Vienna bronze eagle of the highest quality and unusually large size. The painted decoration is wonderfully complex and detailed. The bronze is marked "Austria" under the tail feathers. We have seen this exact bronze with Franz Xavier Bergmann marks.

The old house with straggling palm outside certainly resembles some of the picturesque old structures near downtown Los Angeles that were so often the subject of Kosa's works...

An extremely well painted miniature portrait of a very handsome young man. The sitter is dressed in the traditional black coat and cravat, white shirt with a high stiff collar, and a stickpin. The portrait, on natural organic wafer, is housed in a 14K or higher gold case with a glazed rear aperture showing a lock of hair. Condition of the miniature and case are excellent, with no issues at all. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4", and the locket size is 2 1/4" by 1 7/8".

A naïve miniature watercolor on wafer painting of a gentleman with a piercing gaze and a neatly trimmed beard. Set against a darkish green background, he is wearing a black jacket, vest, and tie with a stickpin. In a cast foliate case with a coil of plaited hair in the glazed window on the reverse.

Condition is excellent, with no issues. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4", and the overall size is 2 3/8" by 2".

A well painted miniature portrait on natural organic material of a sea captain, identified on the reverse as "Phillip…MHK Captain". The miniature is in very good condition, with no cracks, chips, bowing, or restoration. The period lacquered frame is missing its cover glass, easy enough to replace. Sight size is 2 7/8" by 2 3/8", and the frame size is 5 1/8" by 4 3/8".

From our African Collection: This "Ikenga" Southeast Nigerian Shrine Figure is from the Early to mid 20th century. A characteristic of all Ikenga Shrine Figures are their exaggerated bull horns. The basic form of an ikenga is a human figure with horns symbolizing power, sometimes reduced to only a head with horns on a base.

By the highly important German impressionist and expressionist artist LOVIS CORINTH (1858-1925) is this soft-ground etching, 9" by 6 1/2" inside the present mat, the size as framed 20" by 15 1/2", titled "Portrait of Hermann Struck", signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right margin and by the printer Heinrich Wetterroth at lower left margin (along with other difficult to decipher information, written in fine pencil), and dated in the plate at upper right "1911".
