A brown ink drawing of two standing men in conversation, signed at lower right in Hebrew script. A Hebrew reader tells me the signature could read "Yashkovsky" or "Shaikovsky" or similar. The work measures 8" by 6" (15 1/4" by 13" framed). The drawing was likely executed circa 1960's to 1980. A simple work which demonstrates the skill of the draftsman.

An unusual and decorative circa 1930's unframed 16" by 20" oil on canvas painting featuring a beautiful young maiden centered in a tawny, mountainous Southwest landscape, Native Americans surrounding her, signed lower left rather illegibly. I have long studied the signature and believe it might be "Ben Mead", (1902-1986) who was a southwestern (Texas and California) artist-illustrator based in Amarillo and Dallas. Original offset lithograph poster for the Tate Gallery, London, 1980 exhibition "Travels with Pen, Pencil and Ink, Drawings and Prints 1961-1979". The exhibition took place from July 2 through August 3, 1980, when Hockney would have been in only his early forties. This poster is very clean and fresh, and attractively framed in brushed silvery metal. There is a little even vertical rumpling of the paper----just enough to prove its earned vintage status at roughly forty years of age...

In the late 1970s, ceramics became an important concentration for Maki’s artistic creations. As ceramic objects are central to Japanese culture, he didn’t have to look far for inspiration. He did many fine examples and the texture of each item is always striking. This tan bowl was created in 1979. Collection 19 was number 12 of 205 and it measures 9.5inW x 10.5inH. It is embossed and in good condition.

A vintage oil on canvas painting of a river canyon of the west or Southwest, circa 1950's, good-sized at 24" by 32" (32" by 40" in the likely original old charming frame), signed at lower right by artist Charles Crowder. I do not see a "listed" artist name that would correspond. The work much resembles that of California impressionist landscape artist James Merriam (1880-1951). Condition is excellent.
