Lawrence Stephen Lowry (1887-1976) is one of England's most beloved modern artists, his body of work, generally executed in a distinctive naive style, focusing on (as Wikipedia listing says) "scenes of life in industrial districts of North West England and 20th century urban landscapes peopled with human figures referred to as 'matchstick men'". He was a generally shy and not especially sociable, humble man, who turned down a number of honors such as knighthood, by an appreciative nation...
Original pencil figural drawing, 15" by 9" plus a gray mat, unframed, signed at lower right "K. Delaney" and dated there 1979. I do not know who the artist might have been but he or she certainly had a talent as a draftsperson. The condition is generally good save for modest paper browning and there is tape residue on the reverse from clumsy attachment to the mat. Fit a frame on this and you'll have a pleasant, nicely executed drawing.
An example of the 1969 lithograph print, titled variously as "Volcan Fosforescente", ("Phosphorescent Volcano"), numbered in lower left margin 73/250 and pencil signed at lower right, by the famous Mexican 20th century muralist artist DAVID ALFARO SIQUEIROS (1896-1974). Watercolor on heavy paper of trees leaning over a lake, a swooping bird and small boat with primitive figures in the right lower portion, 12" by 21 1/2", signed at lower left "J. H. Dore" or "T. H. Dore". This is a late 19th century work with a primitive and folky touch. The green mat is too wide. Reframe this charming work with a smaller mat for optimum presentation.

A most unusual painting on wood panel, 24" by 30", unframed, featuring some gritty, tough-looking downtown Los Angeles men in a claustrophobic, vertiginous streetscape of old hotel buildings. The Hotel Rosslyn and annex were built in 1914 and 1923, respectively, and were fashionable places to stay, in their day, at Fifth and Main in old downtown. The medium used is likely casein or other non-oil, water-based paint...

A circa mid 20th century oil on Masonite landscape painting of trees and a wide stream, 20" by 36" (25 1/2" by 31" framed), signed in Russian or possibly Ukrainian (or, Armenian?) at lower left. The work currently has a yellowish cast which appears to be nicotine from cigarette smoke. Were it to be cleaned the painting might well be totally a different color, but the yellowish "autumnal" tone seems to work on its own. Condition is very good with only a few light abrasions.

The work, signed at lower left simply "George", measures 20" by 27 1/2" inside the mat and 31 3/4" by 40" framed. Acrylic on canvas painting, 24" by 24", unframed, signed illegibly lower right, also dated there 06 and inscribed.
