Bernard Boutet De Monvel 1881-1949 French This is a fine color aquatint by French artist Bernard Boutet de Monvel .. It is titled Fillette a L'Ombrelle, created and printed in 1910. The image measures 10 3/4X6 7/8 inches. Signed in block letters in pencil lower right border. Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet. Numbered as 3/10.

Oil on canvas painting of a Native American on horseback in the great American West during the late autumn months, 16" by 8", (26" by 18" as framed), signed at lower left corner with the signature and device of contemporary artist ART KOBER. Note the attention to detail that extends to even the beaded bag and every blade of grass. Kober, who maintains a website, is a noted contemporary western American artist who appeared in the pages of Art of the West magazine as far back as 1989...

A beautiful multi-plate color etching by master printmaker LUIGI KASIMIR (1881-1962), dated lower right 1922, and pencil signed there in the margin by the artist. The subject could be mistaken for Paris, what with the advertising kiosk, but this is in fact the Vienna Opera House in Austria. Kasimir was born in present-day Slovenia into a family of poets and artists...

Oil on canvas painting, 24" by 36" (30" by 42" framed), late 20th century, the subject a family of elephants at an African waterhole, signed at lower right by listed artist DON ERDMAN (sometimes spelled as ERDMANN). The work is similar to works by better known artists such as David Shepherd or Bob Kuhn which bring thousands of dollars. Erdman is listed in Davenport's, but I am hard pressed to find more information on him...

Watercolor painting of the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy, circa turn of the century plus or minus a few years (bears date, apparently 1902, extreme right corner), 11 1/4" by 20", (20" by 28 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right indecipherably. The signature appears as "Bonary" or something similar. The painting was executed on paper, which has oxidized over the years, there being a definite browning now...

Joseph Pennell, American, 1857-1926, "Up to the Woolworth," etching, image size 11 3/4 x 7 3/8 inches, 1915, edition of 75, pencil signed "J Pennell imp".

Max Pollak, Austrian/American, 1886-1970, "L'Dia". A very fine original etching in colors by Max Pollak, image size 11 1/2 x 4 3/8 inches, c. 1930, from a small edition of 60 impressions, pencil signed, titled and numbered. Max Pollak was grew up in Vienna, Austria and attended the Vienna Academy of Art where he studied with portrait artist Fernand Schmutzer. Pollack became well known for his portraits and his etchings, and in 1910 won the Prix de Rome...

Reynold H Weidenaar 1915-1985 American THis is an original mezzotint by American artist Reynold Weidenaar. The title is Cathedral Repairs, Mexico City. This image was created and printed in 1949 and was the presentation print of The Printmakers Society of California. The original information sheet is included. The image measures 9X7 inches, hand signed in pencil and printed on an Arches watermarked medium weight sheet.

Original acrylic on panel by Arnold Mesches, measuring 11" by 23". This early work by Mesches (dated on the reverse 1959) retains its original frame and was purchased from the artist in 1960. Arnold Mesches is an extremely well-listed artist born in New York in 1923. He is known for having turned the files the FBI kept on him into works of "engage" art. He is well represented in museums around the country, among which the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the San Diego Museum of Art...

This one is hard to describe....but I will start somewhere. It is an oil on canvas work, unframed, 24" by 24", with no signature on the front, and only "SARAH W." on the overlap giving any possible indication as to who painted this. A green eye within a triangular window in to a human face stares at the viewer, Magritte-like, as the face of a young black child stares from the lower right corner, as a complex pair of intertwined figures at lower left make for arresting and dream-like imagery...

Lithograph with hand coloring from the Imperial folio quadrupeds series circa 1846, plate number 119, depicting the species Myodes hudsonius (the Hudson's Bay lemming), by the important American naturalist artist and lithographer JOHN JAMES AUDUBON (1785-1851). Audubon was assisted by his son John Woodhouse Audubon, and the printing was by J. T. Bowen of Philadelphia...

This is an extremely detailed ink and watercolor drawing on paper, unsigned, of a public building that might have become a federal building like a post office, civic center, etc. It measures roughly 24" by 39" in an octagonal shape, and a ( basically, protective only) inexpensive frame comes with it. Upon close examination, above the main door, one can read "Independence/United States/Freeport Ill(inois)...

Hermine David, French, 1886-1971, "Le Concours Hippique". This is a beautifully energetic original etching with drypoint by French artist Hermine David. The image size is 9 7/8 x 8 1/8 inches, published in 1927 in a small edition of 40, pencil signed and numbered. A rich impression on a medium weight watermarked wove type paper. Hermine David was born and raised in Paris and at the age of 16 was accepted into the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, later going on the study at the Academy Julien...

A charming oil on canvas painting of central Paris by the Seine, a number of tiny figures enjoying their walks along the river with its barges. The artist signed at lower right "L Florguin" and dated the work 1953. Very surprisingly I see only scant information under this name. However the artist was obviously very familiar with the French naive school painters who flourished in the immediate post-war years. Measurements are 18" by 13" on the stretchers and 23 1/2" by 18 1/2" in "distressed"...
