Oil on canvasboard painting of Paris Montmartre section, the dome of famous Sacre Coeur looming white in the distance above the rooftops, signed lower left "Michel" and dated there 1960. The work measures 24" by 18" (27" by 21" in simple white wood framing). The piece has beautiful depth and a balanced satisfying palette of colors. Condition is excellent.

A fine aquatint print circa 1930's, the subject one of the famous canals of old Bruges, Belgium, pencil signed at lower right margin by French artist FREDERIC LOUIS LEVE (1877-1968), and numbered in pencil 86 at lower left margin, where there is a blind stamp in the paper. Leve was a painter in oil and watercolor but is most widely known for his skill in aquatint, a form of etching which lends itself to creating prints that look very much like watercolor...

Watercolor painting of a street and pedestrian promenade on Union Street, in Bath, England, signed by artist Tim Fish. The work is dated December 9,1998 and signed there. Measurements are 7 3/4" by 11 3/4" inside the mat (13" by 17" in simple wood frame). There is presently no glass, but the work is in excellent condition. A nicely executed work by an artist who obviously is familiar with watercolor technique.

Oil on canvas painting, signed at lower left "Charles T. Harris", late 20th century, the subject a red rock dramatic cliff of the Southwest, framed artistically by a large overhanging branch arching in from the right side. The work is very clean and ready to hang. This came from a local estate. The artist is talented but from what I can tell not listed. Size is 20" by 30" plus 2 1/2" wide on a side wood frame.

A contemporary screenprint, the imagery forming the letters for "LOVE", pencil signed at lower right and numbered 98/100 examples at lower left, by noted British illustrator and commercial artist Helen Lang. The matted print is currently housed in a white laminated wood frame, measuring 24" by 20" in that frame. GLASS IS CRACKED AT LOWER RIGHT so print will be shipped without glass...

Oil on canvas, 15 1/4" by 18 1/2" (22" by 25" as frame), the subject a copper or ceramic tub filled with red flowers , all against a simple background. The painting is not signed on the front but on the reverse is "Yerda Werkel" and "von Kurtz" and "1.9.46". So we have likely a German, Swiss or Austrian artist who would have painted this soon after the end of the war. I don't see a listing for the artist but she was talented...

Nicely painted watercolor painting of dramatic alpine landscape, the location identified on the reverse in old Germanic handwriting that is somewhat difficult to decipher, though we can make out "Schoberspitze" and "Hohe Warte", placing this in Austria. The Schoberspitze reaches 2602 meters (8535 ft.) elevation. Comparison with a photograph of the mountain range shows a startling accuracy with the watercolor...

Coastal seascape painting on pebbly surface old gray art board, likely the California coast but possibly Maine, circa early twentieth century, unsigned, measuring 7" by 17" (14 1/2" by 25" in its interesting blackish with reddish design frame). The work and framing is very presentable as-is, with just very slight wear to the frame...

Oil on canvasboard, 12" by 16" (17" by 21" as framed), signed at lower right by artist CURT PAULSON. I do not see a listing but the artist had a skilled hand. The style reminds a bit of California desert painters William Darling or Fred Chisnall. There is impasto, vigorous brush stroke, and a grayish blue light over the scene. Apparently original whitish antiqued frame completes this ready for the wall package. Condition is excellent.

Japanese Etching by "Norikane Hiroto",(1949 - ) "Shiragawago" signed by pencil and numbered "121/500" by artist, frame size - 9" x 6 1/2", image size - 3 3/4" x 5 1/2", beautiful historical World Heritage Site "Shiragawako" farm house with thick forest mountain behind, framed by Kanda Gallery (B-O-Q) in double mats and rounded corner black wooden frame, the condition is in excellent condition.

Japanese limited edition color etching and aquatint titled "Le Tournoi II" (The Tournament II) by Taiwan artist Shaih Li-fa (Xie Lifa) dated 1968. Pencil-signed, titled, and numbered 3/25 in the bottom margin. Xie Lifa (b. 1938) studied drawing and sculpture in Paris in the 1960s before relocating to the U.S. in 1968 to focus on printmaking. Paper size: 17 1/2" x 15" (plate: 11 1/2" x 9 1/4"). Printed on heavy rag paper with large margins. Very good overall condition...

Oil on Masonite panel painting of a thicket of trees in the snow, 16" by 12", 19 1/4" by 15 1/2" framed, signed at lower left by artist S C Swiderski and dated there '86 with copyright symbol. The bare trees are accompanied by a lone pine or spruce which gives a bit of green color to an otherwise silvery white/blue palette. The impressionist work is very attractive and it is in excellent condition. Note how the artist used the wooden end of the brush to create a groove in the wet paint...

Poignant early handmade drawing of pink and white flowers (lilies of the valley and?) painted in gouache within an oval set off by golden mat, the words "BIRTHDAY GREETINGS FROM YOUR LOVING DAUGHTER ALICE" around the central image. The oval measures 4 3/4" by 6 3/4" and the entire work as framed 11 3/4" by 14 1/4". This is a work from another time, when people were less likely or less able to go to a store to buy a gift. Lithograph of a bull in what appears to be a stark Southwestern landscape, 12" by 13 3/4" as framed, pencil signed at lower right margin by listed WPA era American artist CHARLES EARLE MILLER (1907-) and with notation "Ed. 30" at center margin. The image is a very powerful one, similar to the work of Peter Hurd, in some ways. Miller was a painter, etcher and lithographer. I see a number of works online dated in the late 1930's and early 1940's, but after that the trail is difficult to follow...

The subject is a white classic New England home with green shutters, pictured in early autumn, the trees turning colors. A lone figure seems to knit at the side of the house, a rowboat is tied up at the convenient dock, and a sailing craft and the ocean beyond appear at left...

This is a folky painting of someone's favorite St. Bernard dog, circa 1870's or 1880's (ONE OF TWO SUCH WORKS IN MY SHOP). Measuring 21" by 16" on the original very old stretchers and 12 1/2" by 12 1/2" (and 17 1/2" by 17 1/2" as framed), the painting is a sweet and classic rendition of a treasured pet of the Victorian era.
