Oil on an old board, the subject a snowy high mountain peak at left framed by a forested ridge in the middle ground. 9 1/2" by 13 1/2", the frame 2 3/4" wide on a side, signed at extreme right by the noted Hungarian impressionist painter LASZLO NEOGRADY (1896-1962). Neogrady's later works, such as forested mountains under heavy snow, being much more impressionistic in style, are more familiar to the art buying public...

Poem 70-10 is the kanji for day 日. It is a striking, simply executed print. Created in 1970, it is now over a half-century old. The print is 17.5in W x 24.5in H, large (but not huge). As Daniel Tretiak has said: In 1970 quite suddenly Haku Maki started producing truly large prints. He tells us that this one was large but Maki was destined to do even larger ones, that year and in 1973.

Poster, offset lithograph, (dots visible under magnification), 1980, issued on the occasion of an exhibition in 1980 of the works of David Hockney, at the Grey Art Gallery, New York University, the imagery after a 1977 painting "Still Life, Taj Hotel, Bombay" by the artist. This unframed work, in shrink wrap laid against or on foamboard (not opened) measures 38" by 27". I believe this to be Baggot #85 in that definitive catalog raisonne of Hockney posters...

An 18th or early 19th century painting of a noble gentleman, oil on canvas, 30 1/2" by 23 1/2" on the stretchers 35" by 27 3/4" framed. This work does not appear to be actually signed, though there is much writing in blurred old ink on the stretcher in old German hand, seemingly identifying the sitter. The old style script and the way the ink has spread into the wood makes it all difficult to read...

An impressive original gouache painting of the iconic buttes and towers at the Monument Valley in the famous "Four Corners" region of the American Southwest, signed at lower right by the listed artist ARTHUR C. BEGAY (1932-2010). The work, 11 1/2" by 15 3/4" (17 1/2" by 22" nicely framed and matted) is a stunning example of Southwestern art. Oil on canvas painting of a young woman seen in 3/4 view, signed at upper left (incised) Dan A Griggs and dated there '90. The work measures 10 1/2" by 8" (16" by 14" framed). I opened the backing to see if there was any more information on the talented artist but was stymied by the foamboard being partially affixed to the canvas.
