Finely carved, one of kind statue of Steeplechase legend, "Cottesmore". Winner of the Grand National in 1940 and 1942. Hand Carved of rosewood with the highest level of detail. Created in the 1940's in the USA by a German immigrant residing in the Ohio area. Excellent condition. Stands approximately 12" tall on original wooden base with felt backing. This is a true American treasure created with the highest level of German craftsmanship. Stunning piece.

Georges Robin, French, 1904-1928, oil on canvas, signed lower right in good condition. It is 25.6" by 36.25" in a lovely early 20th C French frame 35" by 45". This beautiful luminous Post Impressionist painting is titled in French verso "Automne Bord de Sevre Nantaise" Banks of the Sevre River in Nantaise, France in Autumn". His prices go up to more than $10,000.

A finely done miniature portrait painting by Joseph Wood. Although unsigned, there is no question that this fine rendering of a young woman was done by Wood.

Sight size of this nice example is 2 1/4" by 1 13/16", and the period case is 2 1/2" by 2 1/16". The condition of the painting is excellent, with vibrant coloring, and no chips, cracks, or restoration. The period case (and glass) is in excellent condition, but it is missing the back, a replacement for which which can be made...

A beautifully limned miniature portrait painting by Elkanah Tisdale. The sitter, though unknown, is a handsome young man dressed in a black coat. The painting measures 3" by 2", and is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, bowing, paint loss, or restoration. It is housed in a later metal case.

Few miniatures by Tisdale are known to exist, and with very rare exception, are, as is the case here, unsigned...

Francoise Gall, french, 1912-1987. This wonderful beach scene is Francoise Gall at his best. It is oil on canvas, 16 1/8" L by 9.5" H in a beautiful 20th C gold leaf frame with outer dimensions of 22 6/8" L by 16 1/8" H. It is signed lower right and is in good condition. His paintings sell for up to $50,000 at auction.

A 4" long carved soapstone Inuit figure of a basking seal. This carving has an artist's cypher plus the number E91684 on the bottom, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor surface abrasions. Jean Jacques Henner, French, 1829-1905. This dreamy beautiful painting is oil on canvas, signed lower left is 15 7/8" by 24 1/8" in a beautifl period frame (24 3/8" by 32 7/8"). It is in good condition and has been lined long ago. There is an old tag on the upper back with the name in French and a price of $27,500. He is listed in Benezit and his paintings sell for up to $75,000.

This Maki Big Red has the Kanji (Chinese character) for Flower as its theme. The Flower is red and strong; it is set off by a black Sun to the right. A blue tear balances the sun on the left. Maki’s seal in red ink paste, is below the tear, also at the left. Although Maki himself printed this image, the ink looks as if it was layered on by hand. This is 133/154; Print size is about 11” x 18”. We note: the paper in this print is smooth, it does not have the moon-surface effect...
