Oil on canvas painting, probably English late 19th century, unsigned, of a small body of water, two cottages and a man in a rowboat completing this traditional subject. The work measures 16" by 19 1/2" (24" by 28" in newish framing). The painting could almost be called "Hudson River style" but it is clearly of European origin. Condition appears good overall to the casual observer...

Chromolithograph print of jockeys on their mounts in a race, circa mid 19th century, 13" by 19" (15" by 21" in modern day dark frame), signed in the image by the noted British Vanity Fair magazine caricature and sporting artist LIBERIO PROSPERI (1854-1928), who signed as "Lib". The print is framed without mat and has some condition issues, including two vertical folding creases, and a damage area at lower center, below the horse's leg (see close up of that)...

A Hand Colored Botanical Print Portraying Gladiolas. The Artist is the Victorian Jane Webb Loudon (1807-1858), and the Print is from the book “The Ladies Flower Garden of Ornamental Bulbous Plants” (plate 12), published in 1841 by Day and Haghe London, Lithographer to Queen Victoria. The print is triple matted and elegantly framed. Dimensions; 19.5" x 18". Excellent condition. See also item number 601985 (1542B).

Original 19th century lithograph "A Scene in Old Ireland", by Currier and Ives, the famous American printmakers. This is a true antique hand-colored lithograph and not a later restrike. The work is framed in a late 19th century wood frame with gold inner fillet. Wood backing with rotary saw marks indicates it was framed after the 1870's. Measurements are 12" by 15 3/4" as framed (margins are ample but might have been trimmed a little in early days)...

A student of Scots artist, Scott Lauder, John Burr studied at the Trustee’s Academy in Edinburgh. He moved to London in 1861 with his brother and fellow painter, Alexander Burr. Upon his arrival Burr began exhibiting at the Royal Academy. He continued to exhibit there until 1882...

An example of the circa 1870's Currier and Ives American lithograph "Summer in the Woods", 11 3/4" by 16" inside the mat, 17 1/4" by 21 1/4" as framed. The print is in good antique condition (not examined out of frame) with a faint damp stain at upper left margin and some foxing and slight discolorations at lower area...

An example of the scarce "sur blanc" lithograph prints of famed French caricaturist and satirist artist HONORE DAUMIER (1808-1879), the 1851 print from the "Actualites" series, and Le Charivari. It is beautifully hand colored, with gum arabic highlights in the dark areas of the central figure's robe. Not examined out of the frame, it appears very clean and fresh (happy to examine out of frame upon request)...

Circa 1900 American pastel landscape drawing, 22 1/2" by 9 3/4" (29" by 15" framed), apparently unsigned, in the style of William Chandler and the pastel school of the period. The work is framed behind non-glare glass, which blurs the detail. Condition appears to be excellent. The vertical format would fit your hard-to-fit narrow wall. See other American pastels of the late 19th century/early 20th century period in my shop.

Edmond Francois Aman-Jean 1858-1936 French This is a fine pencil signed lithograph by French impressionist Edmond Francois Aman-Jean. This image measures 13 3/8X14 5/8 inches. Very fine condition, printed on a wove type paper. The subject is Mile Moreno who played in the Comedie Francaise show this image was created and printed in 1898
