He painted in the traditional Old Masters style until 1982, when the symptoms of Parkinson's - diagnosed in 1975 - necessitated brain surgery. One of his accolades during that period was being commissioned to paint the official portrait of Mother Seton for the canonization in 1976...

Fischer", this is an unframed, sizable oil on canvas (46" by 27"), the scene almost mural-like: an apparently Italian lake (see the gondolier at right), framed by blooming wisteria dripping off a trellis at top and climbing a lattice at bottom, several boats plying the calm lake waters. I don't see a listing for the artist...
