An interesting late 19th century, antique drawing of woodland plants, unsigned on front, word "Stanyan" on reverse, where the date "Oct. 28th/84" is written in pencil in old hand. The work measures 15" by 11" (slightly smaller inside the pink mat--which plays off the pink flowers) and 23 1/2" by 19 3/4" in frame (no glass)...

A vintage watercolor painting, circa 1965 perhaps, featuring a northern New Mexico church, perhaps the famous one at Ranchos de Taos, although it also vaguely resembles the iconic sanctuary at Chimayo. Or, perhaps it is intentionally a composite of many of the wonderful old churches of northern New Mexico. This piece measures 20" by 24" inside the mat and 30" by 34" as nicely framed in blanched wood. An internet search has not revealed an artist that might be matched to this work...

Original black-painted terra cotta sculpture of the head of an apparently African-American man, signed at the base "Marion Goodman". To date I have not located a listing for an artist by this name. The sculpture, which has some age (circa 1950's to 1970'?) measures roughly 18" high by 11" by 8"(including base) and weighs 22 pounds. The artist worked the clay with great skill to create a very life-like face, and the curls of the hair are also treated with care...

Oil on canvas painting of flowers in a vase, "Gladiolas", 21" by 18", signed at lower right "Shimo" and dated there 59. The artist is OSAMU SHIMODA (1924-2000). This work came out of an eclectic collection of mostly mid 20th century Hawaiian art, much of it apparently purchased in Hawaii at that time; this one retains an old label on stretcher from Sima's Art Gallery, Ala Moana Center, Honolulu 14, Hawaii...

A set of eight framed collotype color prints after paintings by famous western American artist FREDERIC REMINGTON (1861-1909), originally published by Collier's Magazine, which had a contract with Remington. He was to paint a painting a month, and the prints derived from the painting would be widely distributed. The prints all bear in tiny type at lower left margin "COPYRIGHT 1909 BY P.F. COLLIER & SON"...

Metal sculpture by Swedish artist Puck Stocklassa (1922-2014)) of two figures on a horse, figures with matte black surface on rectangular wood stand with artist information on bottom. Measures 9" wide, 9 5/8" high, and 3" deep, these measurements include the stand. The figure alone is roughly 8 3/4" wide, 7 1/2" high and 2 1/8" deep. The metal appears to be copper, as it shows through in some small areas where the black surface is worn...

This pencil/watercolor drawing on heavy paper, 34 1/2" by 24 1/2" is actually signed by the artist, one "Sil Marraccini" at lower right and is dated 2/11/39. Originally intended as architectural plans, it would today easily qualify as a late Deco/early mid century art work on its own accord. I believe I acquired this in the San Francisco area, where Bank of America began. No doubt this was a plan for the interior details and exterior elevation of a branch of the bank...

An impressionistic landscape of the arid American Southwest, possibly California, 20" by 30" (24" by 34" framed), signed at lower right by noted listed artist CHARLES DAMROW (1916-1989). The work features rugged mountains with no figures included. Damrow was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and headed west at age 13 on his own (the youngest of 15 children). He became infatuated with everything western, in the course of his life painting cowboys, Indians, tipis, bison, bears, horses...

The painting is executed in the Victorian style, but I think it probably dates to the final years of the 19th century or early years of the 20th. I cannot find a signature. There is a framer's stamp on the stretcher from Grand Rapids, Michigan, giving some hint as to its origin perhaps. Also the corner keys are of the post-1885 style...
