This is a work so finely executed that it is difficult to believe that it is a drawing and not a print, but I absolutely guarantee it to be an original drawing. The subject is a priest or monk in an interior nook flooded with sunlight. He is holding a large pair of scissors and appears to be concentrating on a domestic task that is not quite clear to the viewer. At bottom in very poorly spelled German is the phrase "UEBERALL--LOCHER--IM--KIRCHEN--GUT--DA--TUHT--KAIN--FLICKEN--MAHR"...

This is one of the very scarce, desirable prints "Le Nid--Coree" ("The Nest--Korea") by the important French-Japanese printmaker artist PAUL JACOULET (1902-1960). In December 1941, as war exploded upon the world, the image was created by the artist as a gift for his mother, who never got to actually see it. The edition in this size/coloration is said to have been fewer than 200 examples...
Philadelphia Inquirer the following, The Lucien Crump Art Gallery and Education Center closed its doors for the final time Friday after 40 years of serving Philadelphia as the first to feature works by African-American artists. The gallery’s namesake, who had a long career as an artist and educator, passed away at age 71 in 2006. In the last days of the gallery’s opening, an announcement of the change caused neighbors and art lovers alike to pause and share their memories...
An unframed oil on canvas painting of a dreamy waterfall, the deep and mysterious gorge featuring palm trees and at left a small flower-bedecked modest home, the 24" by 18" work signed at lower right "Carolyn". Condition is excellent, the work needing only a frame. The rendering of the palms reminds a bit of the way Filipino artist Romeo Tabuena painted such scenes.

Unsigned Colorful Abstract and Geometric Painting 24x32"
A work over forty years old but very contemporary and stylish in feeling, a watercolor of young female bicycle riders at the beach perhaps, 14" by 21" (23" by 29" framed), signed at lower right by well listed California artist DOUGLASS EWELL PARSHALL (1899-1990). Nicely drawn impressionistic drawing of fresh peaches, the leaves still attached, apparently unsigned and measuring 8 1/2" by 11 1/2" (11 1/2" by 14 1/2" framed in oak). Would look attractive in a pantry or breakfast nook. Squarish light area at top is a reflection only.

An incredibly sweet miniature done in watercolor on organic wafer. Posed against a background of a blue sky with clouds, foliage on the right, and a body of water on the left, the subject is a beautiful young girl with large eyes, golden curls, and rosy cheeks. The artist used her red lips and the sash of her embroidered dress to provide "pops" of color.
The condition of this gem is excellent, with only a very small spot of restoration at the water at the extreme edge at 8:00 o'clock...
