This beautiful watercolor seascape done in New England in Plein Aire by the artist know for his beautiful seascapes

Watercolor and gouache drawing of fruits in a bowl, a brass candle stick, knife and flask, 14" by 10", 21" by 15 3/4" as framed, apparently unsigned. This is an accomplished drawing in fine condition by an elusive artist about which there seems to be little to know, FREDERICK MILLSON. This and two other works by him came out of a San Fernando Valley estate (the others listed here)...

In the style of noted California artist Ellen Burpee Farr, this is a classic late nineteenth century watercolor of the distinctive leaves and "berries" of the pepper tree commonly seen in Southern California. Signed at upper left "A.C. Hough" (or "Haugh"---I don't see a listing for either name), this is a beautiful study that is possibly not finished (the leaves and berries at lower right---could be the artist's intention, or simply unfinished---you judge)...

Antique original lithograph of a standing nude by Julius John Pommer (American, 1895-1945). This wonderful nude dates from the thirties. It is dedicated l.l. and pencil signed l.r. Offered framed. Pommer was born in San Francisco and studied at the CSFA under Otis Oldfield. He was active in the Federal Arts Project in the thirties. Well listed (cf. Southeast Asian Bronze Head Sculpture, might be Khmer, circa 17th/18th Century, measuring 9 1/2 inches, with base measuring 14 inches

This is a good sample of using the natural color of agate to create an interesting snuff bottle. It is 3 inches tall, 1 1/8 inches wide and 1 inch thick. The artist used the orange of the agate to create a large squash and small squash hanging on its side. The black section of the stone color was used to create a lucky bat; the lighter color of the stone served to create a monkey grabbing the smaller squash. A vintage Chinese bronze Buddhist Bodhisattva in a serene pose holding an object in his hands. He is incised with scrolls and good luck symbols, crowned and bejeweled, sitting atop a lotus encircled base. The large size makes an imposing presence and companion.

Condition is generally good though tarnish, patina losses, and small damage exists at the back of the sculpture where it meets the base from which the sculpture is separate...
