Original signed poster for the Whitney Museum showing of "For Example", a 1972 movie by Shusaku Arakawa (1936-2010), from the Mechanism of Meaning project by Arakawa and Madeline Gins. This framed poster is in excellent framed condition and is signed in pencil lower right by both artists. We also have an original mixed media painting by Arakawa available, from the early sixties. Both pieces come from the same New York estate.

This carved rock crystal snuff bottle is 2 ¾ inches tall, 1 ½ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches thick. It depicts a bird in a lotus pond. The snuff bottle is well hollowed and polished. It has cone shape agate top. The crystal has natural grains and impurities.

The figure made of silver (base tested) with gilding, his belt set with sapphire and a ruby buckle as well as turquoise buttons the body baroque pearl . the figure is gilt and clear colored and opaque enamel with losses. The figure is mounted on a Baroque base with the side showing various scenes of cherubs one may pole one with a goat etc...

An interesting late 19th century, antique drawing of woodland plants, unsigned on front, word "Stanyan" on reverse, where the date "Oct. 28th/84" is written in pencil in old hand. The work measures 15" by 11" (slightly smaller inside the pink mat--which plays off the pink flowers) and 23 1/2" by 19 3/4" in frame (no glass)...
