Krause" and also bearing the word "Copy", 6 1/2" by 6" inside the opening in black glass eglomise style "mat", 10 1/4" by 9" as it was originally framed. The drawing seems to me to be after perhaps an original illustration in a Charles Dickens (or other English author of the period) book...

A charming drawing of a village square and church, in graphite, a little wash, and perhaps chalk, on mellow, soft laid paper, 10 1/2" by 8 1/2" (17 1/4" by 13 1/2" in inexpensive modern framing), signed at lower right by the French artist and illustrator RENE ROUSSEL (1885-1962). The artist though undeniably talented, has unfortunately and unjustly become obscure, little known to today's collectors. Gouache and watercolor on paper drawing, 11" by 8 1/2", in metal framing, no glass, signed at bottom right possibly "LEE" and perhaps a date "41" or "47" after that. The framing was done in the Seattle area (see sticker), and putting the style together with that framing information, I feel that perhaps this might be by an artist working in the Mark Tobey school in the Northwest, but this is speculation. The work certainly resembles Mark Tobey's work in many respects...

Lolo Sarnoff (1916-2014) - The Voyage Of A Surching Heart, sculpture in acrylic. Dated Dec. 1997. Red acrylic hearts applied to a silvered and black acrylic background. Ready for wall mounting. Size: 22.5 inches x 14 inches. Titled "The Voyage Of A Surching Heart." Lolo Sarnoff was a noted sculptor, collector and patron of the arts. At the end of her life she had a home in Barnard, Vermont, and she created this piece for the current owner.

This is a larger (22" by 30", 30" by 37" framed) attractive, mixed media drawing on quality heavy paper, a subtle modern work, the colors and tiny background squares reminding of the popular works of artist Robert Natkin. This work is signed in pencil by the artist at the lower right, and is dated there 1983. Despite my best efforts I am unable to read the signature, which looks something like "Christylu Walsh", but this is a wild guess...

A twentieth century pastel on paper drawing of white and yellow flowers in a white vase, signed at lower right with what appears as "Raymond" or similar. The work measures 10 1/2" by 8 1/2" inside the present brown mat (16 1/2" by 12 1/2" framed). Found in Los Angeles, the work is on English paper---I suppose it could be English. The hand that created this was talented and it is a lovely little still life.

A modern, stylish abstract in violets and blue-green colors, nicely framed ("floating") with inner fillet and very complementary silvery outer frame, signed at lower right by artist MARC BENSIMON (1926-) and dated there 1982. This is a very unusual and unique work, 23 1/4" by 18 3/4", (39 3/4" by 28" framed), in tempera or similar medium on board, signed at lower right by artist G. W. Harris and dated 1992. Difficult to describe, I would say it is a compilation of themes relating to the Harlem area of Manhattan, home to African-American culture for decades. Contemporary pencil and watercolor drawing in simple metal gold framing, the subject two women apparently dancing in a late 19th century cafe, the drawing 8 1/2" by 5 1/4" inside the mat (the entire sheet significantly larger, at 11 3/4" by 8 1/4"), signed at lower right "Dan" or "Han" or similar.
