An authentic document signed by Gov. Alfred E Smith (NY) attesting to the fact that as requested by the Governor of Massachusetts he "surrendered" Fred W. Simmons, a fugitive from justice Dated August 17, 1927 . Smith's signature is in the lower right corner - it is also signed by counsel. The paper is folded and curled at the bottom edge; there are also two small puncture marks in the upper right corner.

A very nice example of the 1753 map "The Smaller Islands in the British Ocean", published by T. Bowles, London, engraved by Emmanuel Owen, text by John Owen, the map featuring the Isle of Wight, Scilly Islands in the far southwest, the Channel Islands of Guernsey, Jersey, and Alderney, as well as Farne Island and Holy Island. At top is given the mile marker landmarks on the road from London to Southampton. Beautiful unusually good quality hand-coloring and condition is excellent...

An original sepia-toned photograph of a middle aged man and his bicycle, with pencil note on the reverse side "Taken on Riverside Park/July 1898 by Sadie Coger", and again on black backing paper "My Dad taken/N New Jersey". The bicycle certainly seems to be quite an advanced model for its time, resembling strongly today's models. There is no glass, frame is simple strip wood, and photo is loose. Antique small map titled "The World as known to Ptolemy", 1835, published by Joseph Thomas, London. The measurements are 5" by 6" inside the tasteful maroon map (10 1/4" by 11 1/4" framed). There is hand coloring in red outlining most of Europe. The map is very clean. Mat at lower extreme right has a bit of puckering/creasing. You could replace if so desire but most viewers would not notice this...

This vintage stanhope piece is a very rare find. It shows 6 historical landmarks of Northern Ireland, through the tiny peeper glass in the middle of its well-known, wild boar. The pictures and views, within the charm / pendant display 'A Memory of BALLYCASTLE:' GOLF LINKS, MURLOUGH BAY, ROPE BRIDGE CARRICK-a-REDE, MARINE ROAD and FAIR HEAD. The views great and clear. This stanhope measures 5/8" x 1/2" x 3/8" tall. It is in excellent condition.

Albumen photograph mounted on a card and titled in ink in script under it, “Bheel women grinding Bajri.” The Bhil are a large group of people from west India including Gujarat where pearl millet is called bijri. The photograph shows a group of men and women including a woman seated by a grinding stone posing for the photograph. The image is 7 5/8 x 9 3/8 inches (19.3 x 24 cm) and the card 11 x 14 inches (28 x 35,5 cm).

Condition: the image is in very good condition...

Two albumen photographs of the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Dualah at Agra, India. Neither is signed and though they are probably by different photographers they complement each other as one is a close up of the tomb while the other gives it some context in the surrounding garden.

The longer view is 8 5/8 (22 cm) by 11 3/8 (29 cm) inches with a card 14 (35.5 cm) by 17 (43 cm) inches. It is laid down to the cardboard.
