A fine tinsel, or foil, painting. The relatively uncommon subject matter is a basket of fruit, nicely reverse painted on glass with tinsel backing. What unfortunately doesn't show well in the photo, because of the lighting, is the bunch of grapes directly under the basket.

The painting is in very good condition, with what is probably its original gilded frame and wood backing. The overall size is 16" by 14".

A lobed dinner plate with dentil gilt rim, the lip with a garland of flowers and leaves twined around a thick gold band and the center of the well with a large spray of roses surrounded by smaller sprays of flowers. This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1900. It has the first quality blue crossed swords mark under glaze and model number T175. The height of the figurine is 9 1/2" with a diameter of 4 3/8" at the base. The modeling is finely articulated. It is hand painted in excellent manner. The piece is from the art nouveau period. This is a stoneware crock, 11 1/2" high and approximately 10 1/2" diameter, natural non-gray color, the "2" cut into the wet clay before it was fired. There are several edge chips, but there is some white paint on one side of the rim that is NOT chips, and it comes off with the fingernail. Note the glaze. I am a fine arts dealer and stoneware is not my area of expertise, so, I hope I am identifying this properly...

Very unusual Victorian sterling silver grapefruit spoon with a wonderful plique-a-jour enamel assymetrical handle decorated in six shades of translucent enamel. It is quite unusual for plique-a-jour enamel to have been used on a grapefruit spoon, as it was so fragile that it was usually reserved for more delicate pieces like demitasse spoons. The back is marked with Imperial Austrian marks in use 1866-1922.

This glass bowl and under plate was produced in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic, by the Moser Glass Studio in the 1880s. The under plate measures 7 inches in diameter. The bowl is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 3/4 inches high. It is made of hand blown ruby colored glass with leaded content. The shape and design has an Islamic feel. The birds are very active, the one in the center tends to what appears to be a stylized egg in a nest? Probably a meaning. The designs are simple but harmonious and very elegant. The inlay work is empirical but the materials used are solide and they have stood the test of time well indeed the lacquer has not peeled off and the mother-of-pearl is still well maintained. ...
